The crisis in the Church is the product of bold doctrinal infidelity spearheaded by figures who are promoted by Francis, writes Father Gerald Murry on TheCatholicThing.org (August 9).
• The attempted destruction of Catholic doctrine is called “doctrinal development”.
• We have been thrown back into the chaos of the late 1960s upheaval in the Church.
• John Paul II has been placed in a hermetically sealed container, “to be treated as a kind of viral threat.”
• The leadership of the forthcoming Synod will steer the proceedings in the desired direction.
• Catholics are called to fight against the devastation with all the means at their disposal.

@Simon North Thank you, this narrative is gaslighting! Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us and save us!

“[S]pearheaded by figures who are promoted by Francis…”
Father Murray is close to nailing it. Of course, he should have said, “spearheaded by Francis and figures whom he promoted.“

Clueless. The devastation and chaos were both fomented and institutionalized by John Paul II.

Fr. Murray may not like to acknowledge it, or even see it, but what you write is what is “written between the lines.” John Paul II was a man of the council, to be sure, and his only living legacy, in the Vatican at least, is what he did at Assisi, which only deepened the crisis.

Although he did many "good" things as Pope, his appointees were for the most part (except for Ratzinger) horrible. He appointed many who turned out to be homosexual pervert/pedophiles (McCarrick and others). He appointed some of the most radical liberals....Bernardin, Hubbard, Clark, Martini SJ, etc. He also instituted WYD, which was just a circus even in his day.
But he did forcefully defend the Catholic doctrine of life, and did try to disipline the Jesuits as a group (which failed).
But his 120+ trips contributed absolutely nothing to the benefit of the Church. But at least he didn't actively seek out homosexuals, perverts, and apostate/heretics to create them bishops or cardinals like Bergoglio does.

Here we go again: Bergoglian paradigm of continuity with JP2. Nope! No matter how many mistakes others have made: there's only one false prophet and his name is Jorge Bergoglio!
