Biden to deliver primetime address to nation

10:59 Biden to deliver primetime address to nation Lauren Fedor Joe Biden will address the nation later today, his campaign has said, although few details have been released about when he will speak. Although the Biden campaign did not announce where the Democratic candidate would speak, US television networks showed pictures of a large stage set up outside the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware. The former vice-president made his last public appearance in Wilmington on Thursday afternoon, alongside his running mate, California senator Kamala Harris. Mr Biden said yesterday that every ballot “must be counted” but added he had “no doubt that when the count is finished, Senator Harris and I will be declared the winners”. Since then, Mr Biden has overtaken Donald Trump in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania, putting him on course to win more than the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House. Meanwhile, Mr Trump, whose campaign has mounted multiple legal challenges to stop the processing of postal ballots that have been cast disproportionately for Mr Biden, stuck to his guns and repeated his unsubstantiated allegations of voting irregularities. The President said in a statement:
“This is about the integrity of our entire election process. From the beginning we have said that all legal ballots must be counted and all illegal ballots should not be counted, yet we have met resistance to this basic principle by Democrats at every turn. We will pursue this process through every aspect of the law to guarantee that the American people have confidence in our government. I will never give up fighting for you and our nation.”
