Traditionis Custodes is widely ignored or not taken seriously, James Bogle noticed in front of Gloria.tv during the Roman Forum in Gardone, Italy (video below).
An English lawyer and former president of Una Voce International, Bogle insists that it is “very unwise” for a lawmaker to pass laws that are disregarded.
He thinks that it is not within the powers of a pope to abolish the Roman Mass because the whole purpose of the papacy is to preserve tradition. On the contrary, abolishing the tradition handed down by Christ to the Apostles and subsequent generations is a negation of the papal role and undermines the Church and the papal office, "This is nothing less than a form of treason."
Bogle refers to Benedict XVI's Summorum Pontificum which states that the Roman Rite has never been abolished - while Francis is trying to do just that. He adds that any legislative body, let alone a magisterium, that contradicts itself within a decade is making a fool of itself: "Francis is making a fool …More

He is right. In my Archdiocese, nothing has been done to supress the Tridentine LAtin Mass, even though there are only 3 locations in such a large Archdiocese. The disbanding of the Trinitarian Sisters of MAry, is a disgrace and Francis and his VAtican should be condemned rightly.

Nothing has been done in my diocese either, and the bishop has been quite friendly, establishing the FSSP in one of the most beautiful, and quite large churches in the diocese. I am very thankful for this, and I don’t believe that he would ever proactively attack the TLM. The problem is, he is going to reach his 75th birthday in the next year or two, and one can never expect his successor to be so kind. Some other less friendly bishops nearing retirement have likely done nothing because they would rather leave the problem to their successor. Summorum Pontificum was still expanding and bearing fruit after 14 years. Traditionis custodes will certainly wreak havoc for years to come. That said, I agree that it will prove to be a great recruiting tool for the TLM, and, conversely, it will continue to depress diocesan vocations.
