Cardinal Müller, "I do not understand why there is no dialogue"

In an interview with Il Foglio the fired Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller stresses that he has always been loyal to Pope Francis, "This was never a loyalty reduced to mere adulation."

Asked about pro-gay Vienna Cardinal Christoph Schönborn who declared that his position on Amoris Laetita contradicts the position taken by Müller, he replies, "It may be that Cardinal Schönborn has an opposite view of mine, but his view may also oppose the one he had before he changed his mind."

About the refusal of Pope Francis to dialogue with the Dubia cardinals Müller says, "I do not understand why there is no dialogue with calm and serenity." He adds, "To this day, I have only heard ranting and offenses against these cardinals. But this is neither the way nor the tone to go on." And, "We bishops have the right, I would say, the divine right to discuss openly."

Without mentioning the name, Cardinal Müller criticizes Francis' passion for the environement, "We have many lay-people who are competend in this field", he says, "Jesus did not entrust the secular government of the world to the apostles. The prince-bishops existed centuries ago, and they were not good for the Church."

"I do not understand why there is no dialogue with calm and serenity."
I think it is sadly apparent why "there is no dialogue with calm and serenity." The proponents of Amoris Laetitia cannot defend the ambiguities within the document that some prelates use to contradict the 2,000 year teaching of the Church based on Christ's words in Scripture. I think it is sadly apparent why "there is no dialogue with calm and serenity." The proponents of Amoris Laetitia cannot defend the ambiguities within the document that some prelates use to contradict the 2,000 year teaching of the Church based on Christ's words in Scripture. Their only "defense" so far has been to cast aspersions on the character of those who, like the 4 Dubia Cardinals, have been defending the teaching of Jesus in Scripture and Tradition.

The Biblical admonition for "prayer and fasting" is needed to cast out the demons causing this diabolical disorientation in the Church.

mmmmm......I'm not so positive it's 'too late' Dr. Reiss. Cardinal Muller, even though he has been relieved of his position, can still be heard using a fairly sizeable megaphone. He is also now free to actually join the Dubia Cardinals in their ongoing request for clarification. (not that Bergoglio will give any clarification......EVER, but regardless, Muller has a pretty big voice. I wouldn't …More

If nothing else he obviously has the capability to inspire other Cardinals to gain some COURAGE, to come forward and speak out against this atrocious encyclical and total heresy being employed in many places, that is wreaking havoc upon the Church of Christ. It just may have a 'snowball' effect for all we know. We leave that in God's hands to handle........and do OUR JOBS in prayer and sacrifice. Pray also for Cardinal Muller!!

It's time to get off the fence cardinal Müller, you spoke to a holy prince of the Church just before he went to his eternal rewards. Clearly you have been chosen to replace him in combating the evil forces inside the Church, that was entrusted to him and the 3 other princes of the Church. He is praying and defending them and you from above. Don't hold back, for the bride of Christ is at war, put …More

"Prince-bishops" of past centuries - fantastic point.

Why have the princes of the Church given this bad Pope and his gang of Pharisees such a long run without calling them to heel? Clericalism is running amock amongst these prelates, they need to do their jobs. This bad Pope needs to be stopped and the Cardinals have a duty to stop him before he does any more real damage.
