Bishop Michael Sis of San Angelo, Texas, attended an "interfaith Hanukkah" celebration on 13 December. He helped organise the event, which was held at the Methodist Church and attended by 75 people.
Sis believes in the "significance" of Hanukkah "for all faiths" because "because it is a celebration of religious freedom - the right to practice one's religion according to the dictates of one's conscience".
The Diocese of San Angelo published a poster for the event, showing a tree with symbols of different religions. It presents the idea that it doesn't matter what "religion" you believe in, which is true, as long as one's choice is only between false religions.
Hanukkah commemorates the rededication of the second temple in Jerusalem in the 2nd century BC. The Church no longer celebrates the rites of the Old Covenant. It even forbids to do so, since these rites are all fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

All HUMAN BEINGS including the Jews need to accept Jesus Christ as REDEEMER so that they can be saved. These apostates are destroying the only bridge of salvation for the Jews so that they PERSIST IN REJECTING THE MESSIAH AND condemn themselves.

1) "The ceremonies of the Old Law betokened Christ as having yet to be born and to suffer: whereas our sacraments signify Him as already born and having suffered. Consequently, just as it would be a mortal sin now for anyone, in making a profession of faith, to say that Christ is yet to be born, which the fathers of old said devoutly and truthfully; so too it would be a mortal sin now to observe those ceremonies which the fathers of old fulfilled with devotion and fidelity" (Saint Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologiae, 2, 1, 103, 4).

2) "A Catholic apostatizes from Christianity, either privatively (by merely renouncing all belief in
Christ), or contrarily (by taking up some form of unbelief, such as indifferentism…" (McHugh J. A., Callan Ch. J. Moral Theology, 1958, # 835).

3) "This shameful font of indifferentism gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition, or rather delirium, that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone." (Pope Gregory XVI, "Mirari vos", 15.08.1832).

So this man is an apostate, preaches delirium, and has committed a mortal sin.
