The "artist" Esther Strauss - who produced the obscenity in Linz Cathedral purporting to show the Virgin Mary giving birth - is "right" to ask why the mystery of Christ's birth has never been depicted before, writes Bishop Hermann Gletter of Innsbruck, Austria, on Furche.at.
His commentary is entitled: "Mary giving birth: No false shame".
Gletter is himself a blasphemer and homosexual activist.
He describes the statue this way: "Leaning backwards - and facing away from the viewer - she opens her bent legs. Her swollen belly, the size of a ball of earth, and her exposed sex are visible. She is depicted in a stylised circular shape - a centre of power releasing its energy".
"Is this really so shocking? Or theologically questionable?", Monsignor Glettler concludes his theologically ridiculous drivel.
In an aside, Bishop Glettler admits that "hardly any woman wants to have such pictures of herself published" and that "the religious feelings of the faithful may [!] indeed have been hurt". …More
