Controversial: Cardinal Marc Ouellet, prefect of the Congregation of Bishops, said in Toronto that Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation on the family, Amoris Laetitia, is a controversial document. Ouellet hopes that the controversies around Amoris Laetitia might – quote – “even be fruitful in the end.”

Sacrilegious: The Italian historian Roberto de Mattei called last Sunday’s participation of Muslims at Mass in France and Italy, “sacrilegious." Quote: "Catholic churches, in contrast to mosques, are not centers for conferences or propaganda, but sacred places, where due worship and adoration is rendered to Jesus Christ.” De Mattei also criticized the Quran being read in different churches. In Bari Cathedral the first Sura was receited. It condemns an alleged unbelief of the Christians.

Homosex Subculture: A former seminarian at St. Patrick's College in Maynooth, Ireland, will be meeting with the Irish Police to discuss allegations of homosexual improprieties at the hands of his spiritual advisor. The former trainee priest revealed that the offending priest was a "spiritual father" to him assigned to help him discern his vocation to the priesthood. “My faith was severely shaken after my experience in Maynooth," the ex-seminarian said, "and I suffered from severe depression for a long time."

Strange Experts: One of the twelve appointees for the Commission for the Study of the Diaconate of Women is left-leaning Hofstra University Professor Phyllis Zagano, a well-known advocate for women’s ordination to the diaconate. She has also spoken numerous times at events promoting women’s ordination to the priesthood. Several other appointees have also expressed questionable theological views.

Let’s not be deceived C Jorge has become a Hollywood star seeking to be worshiped.

Bergoglio is not the Pope. He's not a Catholic. Until you start screaming this from the rooftops, these reports are useless

Dear Jungerheld,
it will be interesting to see if Pope Francis has an angry response to their conclusions.
His anger is reserved for the Boys in Palermo and capitalism.

The rabid leftist women taking part in this commission will stop short of you know what. But, you can be sure, the ministerial priesthood is among their long range goals. At that point, they all become heretics and we kick their nasty, pushy, never satisfied a$$es out along with their supporters and send them all to the Episcopalians where they can do whatever the *heck* they want to do. 👏 👏 👏

Strange Experts: Why even go to the bother of convening a commission and further the hopes and dreams of who knows how many lesbos, if the deal was not already done...at least in Francis' mind?

The Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 1976 issued its declaration <Inter Insigniores>, against the possibility of ordaining women to the ministerial priesthood. A commentary which accompanied the decree confessed to having passed over the issue of women deacons because "it is a question which must be taken up fully by direct study of the texts, without preconceived ideas." This past year, the Canon Law Society of America (CLSA) presented a report at its annual meeting in Montreal, entitled <The Canonical Implications of Ordaining Women to the Permanent Diaconate>. Providing us with a historical overview of the female diaconate, and an account of the revival of the permanent diaconate in modern times, the CLSA report contends that "women have been ordained permanent deacons in the past, and it would be possible for the church to determine to do so again." @Fischl, if Francis were "insulating" the family, as in "protecting" the family or "preventing the loss" of true, authentic family life, it would be cause for great rejoicing. But insultating...more accurate, it seems, unfortunately...

cannot help, after having consulted the News several times I always hear something like: "Francis' apostolic insultation on the familiy" 😁

Until 400 – 500 AD both male and female deacons flourished in the Western Church, but the role of deacon declined over the next several centuries, surviving only as an intermediate stage for male candidates preparing for priestly ordination. Following the Second Vatican Council, the Church restored the role of permanent deacon, which is open to single and married men.
.
In 1994, Pope John Paul II declared in his letter Ordinatio Sacerdotalis : "Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance…I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful."
.
In 1995, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith explained that Ordinatio Sacerdotalis witnesses to the infallibility of the teaching of a doctrine already possessed by the Church. ... This doctrine belongs to the deposit of the faith of the Church. The definitive and infallible nature of this teaching of the Church did not arise with the publication of the Letter Ordinatio Sacerdotalis" but was "founded on the written Word of God, and from the beginning constantly preserved and applied in the tradition of the Church, it has been set forth infallibly by the ordinary and universal magisterium," and for these reasons it "requires definitive assent."
.
Ordination to the diaconate was not mentioned in the Letter O.S. and currently remains an open question.
