Cupich Wanted Christ King Institute To Spit On Mass

Chicago Cardinal Cupich demanded that the Institute of Christ the King sign off on a half-dozen points.

One was the falsehood, taken from Traditionis Custodes, that the chaotic Novus Ordo is the only true expression of the Roman Rite. Further, a permission to celebrate Mass could have been revoked at any time. The Institute’s priests didn’t sign, LifeSiteNews.com reports.

So, Cupich took revenge on them. He revoked their right to celebrate Masses and hear confessions from the end of July. It is ironic that even the canonically irregular Society of St Pius X in Chicago has these faculties.

The Institute has done everything in its power to find a compromise with the ruthless Cupich. LifeSiteNews.com assumes that the rigid Francis approves of these anti-pastoral measures.

May God have mercy on the souls of Cupich and Bergoglio.

ICKSP priests or FSSP priests “going rogue” is a pipe dream, I believe. The reason for their existence has always been compromise and they’ve always been groups defined by what they aren’t (namely, the SSPX). It’s sad what is happening to them, but far from a surprise.

Not sure what "spit on the Mass" means, but if headline is true and "spit" means what is normally means Cupich should have his life ended sine die.

Spitting is like in Japan when Christiany was forbidden: The Japanese Christians forced to trample on Christ or face death.

Woe to Cardinal Cupich! This is a true hate crime. Make no mistake, he is demonstrating first his hatred of Our Lord Jesus Christ and secondly His flock. I say we start a campaign- let's insist that Cardinal Cupich and Pope Francis answer this question: "Will we lose our souls and be damned to everlasting hellfire if we cherish and love the traditional Latin Mass?" As St. Michael the Archangel cast …More

This is a big test for ICKSP. I’m curious to see how they will handle this.

God bless the ICK!
You mentioned, It is ironic that even the canonically irregular Society of St Pius the X in Chicago has these facilities. That is because the SSPX is not part of the diocese.

I don't want to join the closing prayer (everyone can pray for what he wants or not), but express my RESPECT for the Institute Christ the King and High Priest. THANK YOU for staying strong!

With respect to Sally. No. The SSPX has faculties for hearing Confessions, not because they are outside the archdiocese. Pope Francis gave the Society faculties after the Jubilee Year of Mercy. 2016? Before that, it can be argued that the Society had "supplied jurisdiction" anyway, because of the crisis in the Church. It seems not impossible that the Institute will make a similar judgment, appealing to the same canon law as the SSPX. But...who knows, many of those priests split from the SSPX because of these issues. They can be suppressed, or become "Lefebvrites".

The power of attorney, the sacrament of St. Administering confession has been lawfully granted and unlawfully withdrawn from the Institute of Christ the King and High Priest. So this power of attorney still exists!
