German Bishops Publish Homosexual Handbook for Catholic Schools

On 30 October, the German Bishops’ Conference published a guide urging Catholic schools to incorporate homosexual ideology. The title is: 'Created, Redeemed and Seduced Loved: Visibility and recognition of sexual identity diversity in schools”. In it, the bishops adopt the vocabulary and assumptions of gender ideology (queer, non-binary, cis, heteronormativity). They blaspheme that God willed homosexual lifestyles. - The primacy of love orders all other perspectives – including sexual-moral ones.

- Being loved in creation and redemption applies to the human person in all his or her diversity – including the diversity of sexual identities.

- Queer persons … whose gender identity and/or sexual orientation are not covered by the spectrum of cis or heterosexual people.

- Critique of heteronormativity … challenges the notion that heterosexuality is the normative ideal.

- Developments in between are not pathological disorders but different courses of sexual development.

- Homo-, bi- or asexual orientations are normal variants of human capacity for love.

- Teachers contribute to the visibility of people of diverse sexual identities. […] Use gender-inclusive language in which no person must be assigned to a specific gender.

- Teachers make their queer sexual identity visible – also in Catholic schools – and thus serve as role models.

- Religion teachers present the Church’s sexual morality in a differentiated way … what is disputed in Church and theology must also be presented as disputed in class.

- School leadership should establish clear regulations for toilets, changing rooms, use of names, etc.
