I've traveled to at least 30 states in the U.S. and enjoyed its national parks, historic places, its nature, etc. In Mexico I've traveled to at least 20 states and done the same. Mexico surpasses the U.S. by far in its beauty and variety, all the climates of the world are packed there, and nature is simply out of a fantasy book and changes from region to region. Some towns can even be compared to those in Europe but then again Mexico has European influence due to the spaniards.

This is how Mexico looks like in many places, not only the south. But Mexico city, and other cities of Mexico. North Americans moving to Mexico are realizing is not a narco state and not a third world country in the least, they are sharing their experience and embracing Mexico.
My wife's family and ancestry is from Mexico. I've been there several times and it definitely is a second world country. The levels of poverty are higher than in the US. Its divided between rich and poor with a small middle class. The country is still dangerous with Cartels unchecked and many murders and kidnappings committed by them.
