It is curious to note that Our Lady of La Salette wept bitter tears of sorrow. Her raiment was the yellow & white of the Papal Flag of Vatican City and could almost be described as straitjacket-like, weighted down with heavy chain as if to indicate that She was being restrained from exercising Her power.
I wonder if She used these symbols to focus our attention upon the Pope or the Vatican or both.
On this day, the 19th of September 1846, they looked at her and noticed that she did not cease weeping all the time She spoke to them. As Maximin Giraud put it, “She was like a mama whom Her own children had beaten and who had escaped to the mountain to weep.” The beautiful Lady was tall and seemed to be made of light.
