Does Francis Plan to Abolish Summorum Pontificum?

The modernist lay liturgist Andrea Grillo who is close to Pope Francis, told La Croix that Francis is considering abolishing Benedict XVI's Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum that allows all priests to celebrate the Roman Rite. According to Grillo, once the Vatican erects the Society of Saint Pius X as a Personal Prelature, the Roman Rite will be preserved only within this structure. "But [Francis] will not do this as long as Benedict XVI is alive".

Grillo also knows, that Francis plans to start a cycle on the liturgy during his Wednesday Audiences, in order to promote his liturgical views.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bergoglio abolishes the "supplied jurisdiction" provision in canon law.

This way when he scuttles the SSPX..itll kill two birds with one stone.

@Jungerheld. Francis seems to want to quarantine those who want Latin liturgy, thinking interest in it would wither and die. He mentioned some months ago that he was disappointed that so many young men are oriented toward what he considers withering and dying.

It has been fairly obvious for some time that Pope Francis is out of touch. Someone needs to tell him that it's 2017, not 1977

Actually, the talks went very well. Cardinal Mueller, who has always been at odds against the SSPX, published a letter a month before he was fired. It was likely a reason for his departure.
When will the Traditional Orders close-ranks against Rome?

"...once the Vatican erects the Society of Saint Pius X as a Personal Prelature..." Since these talks aren't going very well, Andrea Grillo's speculation now means Summorum Pontificum looks to be with us for a very long time indeed.
Of course Francis hates tradition: It's Catholic.

Well the modernists already raped the faithful by suppressing the true Mass during the sixties. Why would they have a problem raping us again?

And I suppose the nuchurch modus operandi is now; once a Pope dies, all bets are off and everything he did up to and including his entire pontificate can be eradicated with the stroke of … More

@Dr Bobus what this seemed to be suggesting is Francis would prefer that it is the ONLY place it would exist, that this would be Francis' aim.

The FSSP, ICKSP, and various monastries and groups already exist as structures devoted to the TLM
