With a legalistic and rigid text, the evil Archbishop Arthur Roche, Francis’ henchman in charge of killing the Roman Rite, has answered the Dubia, not the ones regarding Amoris Laetitia, but 11 Dubia concerning Traditionis Custodes.
The text which will remain dead letter, was approved by Francis. The worst points:
- Coercion to concelebrate, particularly at Chrism Mass, which contradicts Canon Law.
- Everybody is forbidden to use the Roman Rite Pontificale (i.e. no confirmations, no priestly ordinations), the Roman Rite Ritual is only allowed in personal parishes;
- Using or publishing vernacular lectionaries containing the Roman Rite readings is forbidden, the readings at Mass must be in vernacular according to modern interpretations;
- Newly ordained priest "need" an express authorisation from Francis for celebrating the Roman Rite;
- It's recommended to grant the Roman Rite faculties only temporary;

The document severely restricts the use of the Rituale (which includes matrimony, baptisms, penance, anointing of the sick, burials) and totally bans the use of the Pontificale (confirmations and ordinations). Furthermore, the document states that priests ordained after July 16, 2021 will need authorization from Rome to celebrate the TLM.

But, this is a case of bad law. As St. Thomas said, an unjust law is no law at all, and need not to be followed. This would include eclessial law.

Bad Law does not have to be followed....Morally - true without a doubt.
But, the problem for a bishop is that if he does not completely suppress TLM, he runs the risk of finding himself 'elevated' to a desk job somewhere.
Of course, God will give the grace ya-da, ya-da, but, it 's still a tough place to be. I am moved by the difficult situation the faithful bishop faces. I know of a good one.....…More
