Mosebach: Yes, Tradition Will Kill Francis

German author Martin Mosebach spoke to LifeSiteNews.com (October 4) about Traditionis custodes.. Highlights.

• Francis accuses Ancient Rite Catholics of attacking Vatican II, whereas the opposite is true. They criticise that Paul VI’s reform of the Mass did not follow Vatican II.

• Francis' most important omission in TC is that he conceals Benedict XVI's teaching that the Roman Liturgy was never forbidden because it cannot be forbidden.

• Forcing the faithful to shuttle back and forth between rites, is an attack on their spiritual integrity. However, for people who do not know what a rite is — the majority of Western Catholics — this is a completely incomprehensible point of view.

• In canon law there is no “Hoc volo, sic iubeo!” (this I wish, thus I command) in essential questions.

• Those resisting TC must be prepared to pay a price: churches will be taken away from them, priests will be suspended.

• The Fraternity of St. Peter must now learn a bitter lesson because it had falsely believed that by seceding from PiusX and submitting to the dictates of the reform, it would be rewarded with security and recognition.

• The hostility of the Church's ruling circles against tradition is unconditional. They will not rest until tradition is completely destroyed.

• Francis said the other day: “Tradition is killing us.” He does not know how right he is: Yes, tradition will sit in judgment over him sooner or later.

• During the persecution under Elizabeth I, the English Jesuits developed “equivocation” — concealing the truth without lying. However, this didn't save them from death on the gallows. There comes a point at which one can no longer cleverly wriggle out of it, but cannot avoid confessing the naked truth... An apparent compliance will never satisfy the modernists.

• The official Church is deeply weakened. The harshness that it was still capable of under Paul VI is no longer at her disposal.

• “Disobedience” was a much greater risk for Archbishop Lefebvre than it is today, when the hierarchs' authority has collapsed through their own fault. Lefebvre, on the other hand, has been de facto rehabilitated.

Most likely heart failure will kill Francis. He's too fat and too old which is a bad combination. It would be ironic if he died of COVID after supposedly getting vaccinated, though.

The fact is the priests rejected the right of Archbishop Lefebvre to consecrate Bishops without a papal mandate. It was that issue that precipitated the break. I would have expected more from Mr Mosebach. Whether an accommodation was allowed them or not would have made no difference. He can argue they were wrong on the issue of the right to consecrate, but to mischaracterise the affair as Mr Mosebach has done here is very disappointing to read.

which priests...........???? We have listened to those at the highest level of FSSP ( a saint, in my opinion) who did not list the ordination legality as the reason why the 'split' It had more to do with the thoughts of Mr. Mosebach. God bless, FSSP and Society of St Pius X ( and the Institute and courageous diocesan priests, as well)
