Francis' Nuncio Disinvited Strickland - Behind the Back of US Bishops

Bishop Strickland is leading hundreds (!) of Catholics gathered for rosary rallies outside the Baltimore hotel where the US bishops are meeting.

San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone announced on Twitter that Strickland had asked to pray for Francis and commented, “Let us do that and also pray for Bishop Strickland.”

Strickland told CatholicNewsAgency.com that US nuncio Pierre had asked him not to attend the conference.

Presiding Archbishop Broglio told OurSundayVisitor.com that Strickland as a retired bishop "has a voice in the conference", but he cannot vote.

Broglio said he was "unaware of any invitation to him not to come to this meeting. It didn’t come from us."

Pierre's disinvitation behind the backs of the USA Bishops should come as no surprise. Archbishop Broglio just made Francis and Pierre look all the worse, by saying that this rude and dirty trick "didn't come from us"..meaning the USCCB.
