Are There Still "Objective Criteria For Admission To The Sacraments”? - Providence Bishop

Bishop Thomas Tobin of Providence Diocese, USA, opened on Twitter (March 4) a discussion about Amoris Laetitia, Holy Communion and the conscience.

He asks “sincere questions" which contain an implicit criticism of Pope Francis like: “If the conscience of a person is the criterion used for admission to the Eucharist, does the same apply to other sacraments too? Even Holy Orders?”

Or: “Are there still objective criteria for admission to the sacraments in the Catholic Church?”

This bishop shows uncommon courage. Tiny Providence, Rhode Island is on the ocean but surrounded by a sea of hostility to these "sincere questions."
