Zen understands that Tucho wrote the response to the Dubia, while Francis rubber-stamped it.
"No Catholic" has ever dared to deny the true conception of marriage, Zen states. He is "astonished" by the sentence in Tucho's response that refers to Amoris laetitia 292 claiming that "other forms of union" realize Christian marriage “in a partial and analogous way”.
Equally problematic for Zen is the statement allowing the "blessing" of homosexual unions, “Doesn't such a union imply sexual activity between people of the same sex, which is clearly sinful, just as any sexual activity outside of legitimate marriage is sinful?”
For Zen, the response to the dubia is one-sided, pitting "understanding" and "tenderness" against the defence of truth which is presented as "denial", "rejection" and "exclusion". Zen must explain to Francis that there is no "understanding" and "tenderness" without the truth and that practiced homosexuality is a sin against God's plan.
Therefore, the attempt of leaving the priests without a clear rule and trusting them to "individual discernment” is “untenable” for Zen.
He tells Francis that priests are administrators, not masters of the sacraments. In confession, they “must follow the rules, ensure repentance and resolution”. Likewise, the penitent must know that the intention not to sin again is necessary.
