The semi-official Vatican outlet Il Sismografo has launched a brutal attack on Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller. Müller had proposed that the Pope creates a group of cardinals in order to engage in a dialogue with his many theological critics.
The Vatican journalist and director of Il Sismografo, Luis Badilla, called this on September 27 a "crazy proposal" adding sarcastically, "We can only pray [for Müller]." The whole article is a nasty personal attack on the former Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
It can be excluded that the article appeared without Pope Francis' agreement.

As Our Lady of Good Success said centuries ago; Bishop will be against bishop and cardinal against cardinal. I think schism is inevitable.

It would be Johann Eck vs. Luther-Melanchthon disputation all over again with the same result. Let's do it.

Maybe they're afraid the Pope couldn't get enough cardinals to represent him.
