The Vatican Philatelic and Numismatic Office presented a new stamp for Easter 2018 with the value of 0,95 cent.
The image on the stamp is the risen Christ originally painted by the known Spanish artist Raúl Berzosa, 38, in 2016.
Katholisch.de (February 28), the website of the German bishops who prefer grey and ugly "art", stated that the chosen picture is “superficial” showing Jesus’ muscular upper body “well-trained in the gym”.
Berzosa has produced artwork for the former Benedict XVI, the cathedral of Fargo, North Dakota, for liturgical handouts in the Vatican, as well as portraits of John Paul I, John Paul II, and Cardinal Amato, and paintings for many other occasions.

I remember reading about The Passion of the Christ, that Mel Gibson wanted an actor to portray Jesus that was strong and not wimpy and (in my opinion) he accomplished his goal. I would not agree this is what the "art" on this stamp might be attempting. I also do not agree that this art is defended by "de gustibus non est disputandum, or de gustibus non disputandum est"!
