The Priestly Fraternity of St Peter (FSSP), which celebrates solely the Mass in the Roman Rite, has elected Father John Berg as Superior General for a term of six years.
Father Berg, an American born in Minnesota, was already the Superior General of the FSSP from 2006 to 2018. For the past six years, he has returned to parish ministry in Providence, Rhode Island and Omaha, Nebraska.
He succeeds Father Andrzej Komorowski. He said he wanted to "continue the work of the last 6 years in the service of the Fraternity".
The General Chapter of the Priestly Fraternity takes places from July 3 to July 18 at their Seminary in Denton, Nebraska. 32 capitulants were present.
The election of the assistants and counselors will follow in the next few days.

The real question is why they’ve decided to elect a former SG rather than reelecting the previous SG.

I’ll pass. It’s just another Novus Ordo bishop.

The FSSP says the new Mass too:
“ Simply put, in Protocol 1411/99 the Vatican has ordered that any priest, even one belonging to an institute enjoying the privilege of using the 1962 Roman Missal, may freely celebrate or concelebrate Mass using the revised Missal of 1970 with no impediment whatever, the will of their superiors notwithstanding. But the Vatican went further, mandating that FSSP …More

But the Vatican went further, mandating that FSSP priests must say the new Mass or concelebrate under some conditions.”

That article was written in 1999. Has the provision requiring the possibility of celebrating the new mass proved to be disastrous for the Fraternity? That article was written in 1999. Has the provision requiring the possibility of celebrating the new mass proved to be disastrous for the Fraternity? As far as I have heard, any Fraternity priest who has decided that he wants to use the new missal has left the society. The author was essentially predicting that the traditionalist institutes were going to be destroyed by the provision that they accept the liceity of concelebration. That has not happened. In fact, I think that very few have concelebrated even to this day, as no priest is ever really required to concelebrate any mass, even if there is a soft expectation that they will do so at the Chrism Mass. I know you’re not a fan of the ICKSP, but they shut down their apostolate at their US HQ in Chicago because they would not comply with Cupich’s demand to use the Novus ordo one Sunday a month. These groups are more committed than ever to tradition, I think, though they are also in a bind because they don’t want to lose what they have been given. I would hope that they realize that Rome is completely untrustworthy, and I agree with you that it is disconcerting that the SSPX has continued to deal with dishonest, double dealing, modernist Rome.

All are required to concelebrate candlemass with the local bishop.
As regards the ICK, when I was a “postulant” there (ie., aspiring American seminarians spend a year at a US priory assisting priests and learning French), I was told directly by Mgr. Schmitz that if a local bishop requested them to celebrate a new Mass, then “for the good of the apostolate, they would do it.”

Lefebvre said that had he agreed to say even a single new mass, the entire drama of Econe would have been avoided, because it would have conveyed to Rome that the objection to the new mass was not a principled objection. That was just one different between Lefebvre and the FSSP: Tge helatter might not LIKE V2, the new Mass, etc, but are not opposed to them in principle, where Lefebvre and the SSPX …More

The FSSP have elected Fr. John Berg as new Superior General of the traditional-Mass saying Fraternity for the next 6 yrs. He was formerly Superior General from 2006 - 2018, and takes over from Fr. Andrzej Komorowski.

Isn't Father John Berg homosexual or has homosexual tendencies? We must start openly asking every priest, bishop and pope" Are you HOMOSEXUAL? " . NO IFS AND BUTS " DON'T ASK " IS MORTAL SIN POLICY. DAMNATION VERY LIKELY FOR ANYOBE NOT ASKING THE QUESTIONS.

I wonder if you are confusing Fr. Berg with Fr. James Jackson, who was also at the FSSP parish in Providence, Rhode Island - and lost his ministry for such issues.

No. Absolutely not. An yes, Fr. John Berg is a homosexual. You can contact him, and ask him directly. If I am wrong I will apologize. I know I am not wrong.
Lives of many innocent children, boys, the Catholic church and wrath from God is at stake.
