There was a “total astonishment” in the court-room after a Melbourne jury convicted Cardinal George Pell on December 11, LifeSiteNews.com reported.
Those present in the court-room spoke of a “terrible injustice” as the prosecution presented only a single complainer and no other evidence.
Pell is alleged of having abused two choir boy during official functions in Melbourne Cathedral in 1997 although location and circumstances make it impossible that this could have taken place. Pell was not living near the cathedral.
The senseless accusations were first circulated by Louise Milligan in her book "Cardinal: The Rise and Fall of George Pell" which the prestigious literary critic Peter Craven called "a 384-page attempt at a self-fulfilling prophecy" and "a case being mounted for a witch trial".
