Francis Listens Only to Small Circle of Beloved Friends - Cardinal Müller

The activists of the German Synod are "political functionaries" who sit at the "feeding troughs of power" and feast on the fleshpots, said the Regensburg Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis to the German state broadcaster ARD.de (31 January).

Really Catholic, she said, were those good pious people who go to church. They do not want to change the Church and have nothing in common with the synod members.

On the same programme, Cardinal Gerhard Müller commented on Francis. For a private person, he said, it was legitimate to deal only with his "beloved friends". In contrast, a pope should not only listen to his small circle of friends.
