Radical New Archbishop of Detroit Bans All Latin Masses But One

Archbishop Edward Weisenburger of Detroit is ending the Holy Mass in the Roman Rite in all regular parishes.

He was installed March 24 (without a papal bull because Francis couldn't sign it). His predecessor, Archbishop Vigneron, saved several Latin Masses in various parishes.

The new decree states that Archbishop Weisenburger "has declared that the 1962 liturgy and sacraments will be prohibited in all parish churches in the Archdiocese of Detroit effective July 1".

The news was announced on social media by one of the affected parishes, Our Lady of the Scapular, Wyandotte.

The only remaining Mass site is the Shrine of St. Joseph in Detroit, which is run by the Institute of Christ the King.

How’d you like to swap places with this archbishop when his judgement after death comes around? But he loves moslems, Buddhists, Anglicans, atheists, trans whatever’s, homosexuals, divorced and remarried, etc., but draws the line at those traditional Catholics inspired by the Mass of the Ages. That just has to please Our Lord, I bet.

If they are in fact killing TLM in the Archdiocese Of Detroit, there is a great option right on the border of the archdiocese.
Check out Saint Matthews in Flint: the pastor there is Fr. Anthony. He is a diligent, holy priest, who prays a very reverent mass. The church is absolutely beautiful. You will be loved and cared for by a good priest and a good Bishop.

What a lovely gift from the arch bishop to the faithful during Holy Week. (sarc) So much love coming from the prelates these days, it’s overwhelming witnessing the kindness and care that they show to the marginalized and those on the periphery. It puts a lump in my throat. ( more sarc)

He doesn’t believe in God or Holy Week, so why should he care at all? He’s a pathetic atheist. Atheism of his sort is duo mainly to emotional and psychological immaturity (as is homosexuality). Like a teenage boy, he probably couldn’t pass up the chance to indulge in some pubescent irony. I am atheist but the way these bishops hide behind the Catholic Faith is beyond sickening.

The more the TLM is suppressed, the more it will increase. Out of curiosity, the faithful will want to know why, and having inquiring minds, they will find out how superior it is to the Novus Ordo.
