“It's an honor that Americans attack me,” Pope Francis told La-Croix.com's Nicolas Senèze on his September 4 flight to Maputo, Mozambique. Francis is known for being sensitive to criticism.
Senèze had presented Francis with his book “How America Wanted to Change the Pope.” It is about American Catholics asking Francis for accountability concerning abuse scandals in the light of Archbishop Viganò's revelations. Francis told Senèze that he had heard about the book. He called it "a bomb."
An abashed Matteo Bruni, Francis' spokesman, tried his best to undo the damage by asserting that Francis' remark was pronounced in an "informal context."
He explained that Francis "wanted to say" that he always considers criticism an honor, especially when it comes from authoritative thinkers or an important nation.

The anti pope Bergoglio is attacking the true Catholic doctrine and laid the foundations to persecute us.

Wow. The man who is supposed to be Holy Father to ALL Catholics. What an epic FAIL for a Pope. Jesus, have mercy on us.

The meaning is clear: "I hate Americans so much that, for me, their criticism is a badge of honor."

...and for him, with very good reason Arthur McGowan America is a capitalist success story currently run by the arch-enemy of all Marxists: a successful right-wing business-man.

Sad to see the current Pope, like so many Europeans, incorrectly divides ideology along national lines. Ironically, he's denouncing a country filled with some of the most marxist Novus Ordo Catholics in the world.

That phrase of despise (he, the humble) and hypocrisy (is he who attacks Catholicism from day one) pictures the character. But are not only Americans; many Spanish are against his imposture.

In the very early days of Francis' pontificate I would have the thought... "Well, maybe his harsh words are like harsh criticism where it is appropriate - in a family; not among outsiders or strangers..." But statements like this make it clear Francis is the one that acts like a child and despises Catholics like me.
