The Maronite Church used the coronavirus to introduce compulsory communion in the hand on March 4, AsiaNews.it writes.
The hands are among the main transmission channels for the virus. The decision was rejected by the faithful who called the measure "contrary to the true faith."
During the March 8 Sunday Mass in Ajaltoun, the faithful shouted, "We are the Church," while the priest demanded “obedience.” The faithful called this “an obedience to sin” and communion in the hand “a fall in the nets of the devil.” The priest then cancelled the Mass.
After the incident, Jbeil Bishop Michel Aoun fed his people with the double lie that during Second Vatican Council the bishops “revived this ancient way of communion in the Western Church."
In reality, Communion in the hand is a novelty that was introduced as an abuse by German and Swiss priests although Paul VI opposed it.
The Greek Catholics in Libanon introduced communion in the hand “as an option.” Very few used it.

"Give a liberal an inch and they will impose for all." tbswv This is profound wisdom.

We all know this was not the norm introduced at VII but only approved exceptions for Holland and Northern Germany. Give a liberal an inch and they will impose for all.

If Montini opposed communion in the hand he would of stopped it. On the contrary, he was the one who radically changed the Church.

Looking at the painting of the Last Supper it appears that the bread is being passed by hand.

@Wichita Knight Which Last Supper painting? Who is the painter?
Donna Bethell
No painting is the Gospel, only an artist's idea of what happened. At the Last Supper, the Apostles were becoming bishops. We are not the Apostles.
