Francis has accepted the resignation of Father Juan Antonio Guerrero Alves, 63, as prefect of the Holy See's Secretariat for the Economy "for personal reasons".
The Jesuit was only appointed to succeed Cardinal Pell in November 2019. His resignation will take effect on 1 December. The successor is Maximino Caballero Ledo, Guerrero's secretary, who has been Guerrero's friend since childhood.
In a letter to his staff, Guerrero explained that he had undergone surgery earlier this year. As a result, he is currently undergoing medical treatment that has side effects and makes it particularly difficult for him to work [which all sounds like cancer].
He leaves his post "with sadness".

Is he a priest or a layman? If a layman, he looks fine. If a priest, he's already unacceptable by the way he's dressed...and if he is a priest, he's probably another Jesuit.
