French Dioceses Manipulate Cassock Into Jeans

The three French dioceses of Perpignan, Montpellier and Nimes have used an image of a priest in a cassock that was manipulated in a way to make it look as if the priest was wearing jeans.

According to Le Salon Beige (March 19) the manipulated picture was used for a fundraising campaign.

Who's afraid of the cassock?

Writing on www.newliturgicalmovement.org/…/fostering-young…, editor Gregory DiPippo said: “If, as this rather sad little episode seems to indicate, a diocese becomes not merely reluctant to show a priest as a priest, but positively embarrassed by the idea, it should at least be honest and admit that the money collected in its fundraising appeal will be used to pay the lawyers who handle its receivership.
