Bishop Derio Olivero of Pinerolo, Italy, presided at an Epiphany Eucharist wearing a polychrome chasuble that made him look like a mandarin duck.
A group of female dancers, dressed in some pyjamas, bounced around the floor of the cathedral in various overstretched movements (pictures below).
Bishop Olivero acknowledged in his homily that the faithful were scandalised by the dancers. Some would call the Church a [bad] disco and say that the Church has lost its references [and its mind], he said.
Monsignor Olivero drew the philosophical conclusion that the reactions to an event are different because "we are different in the way we think about rites and Eucharists".
When the liturgy becomes the result of what "we think about rites", it ceases to be a liturgy and becomes a secularised gathering of people who have lost religion.

Se facciamo della liturgia quello che vogliamo senza rispettarne le formule e i canoni, semplicemente la rendiamo invalida. È quello che accadde nella stessa Diocesi di Pinerolo alcuni anni fa, quando al posto della S.Messa venne istituita una pagliacciata al suo posto, ossia la liturgia della Paola, per abolire la S.Messa nel giorno festivo e al suo posto fare un surrogato invalido, diretta tale blasfema liturgia da pastori protestanti.

Se questi sarebbero i "Vescovi" Italiani, perla maggior parte: gli Italiani sono imbambolati e l'Italia sara' veramente fritta! Le 'profezie' di San Giovanni Bosco sono gia' in corso. Che vergogna Vescovi Italiani - malati di modernismo!! Schifo negli 'edifici di culto' ... che non sono piu' Chiese Cattoliche! Vergognatevi Vescovi e seguaci!

I am sure the faithful hated this, like most normal, faithful and believing CAtholics would....they don't even have to be traditionalist, just faithful. You'd never see this kind of trash in the Greek Orthodox Church....but it is very common in the Episcopal Church, whichbwil defile St. Peters Basilica with one of their services. You'd never see this kind of trash in the Greek Orthodox Church....but it is very common in the Episcopal Church, whichbwil defile St. Peters Basilica with one of their services. If FAithful CAtholics in Rome had any sense (which probably they don't) they would demand that the Basilica be re-consecrated after heing defiled by Protestant services.
