Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, Co-Director of March for Life UK, has pleaded not guilty to five charges under Britain's abortion buffer-zone law. During an October hearing, Judge Tan Ikram declared: “Standing is not a crime” and “Courts are not here to pass judgment on people’s views.” Her lawyers argue that prosecuting her for silent prayer violates fundamental freedoms of thought and religion. The prosecution amounts to an “abuse of process”. The judge is expected to decide in November whether the case proceeds. A trial is scheduled for 25–29 January 2027.
