Cardinal Burke Sees "No State of Emergency": Ordaining bishops without a papal mandate will have to be punished, Cardinal Raymond Burke told PerMariam.com. He hopes Leo XIV will appoint cardinals to continue talks with the FSSPX, saying reconciliation remains possible. Cardinal Burke, a canon lawyer, rejected rumours that all FSSPX members could be declared excommunicated: "I don’t think that can be sustained". Furthermore, he dismissed the FSSPX's claim of a "state of emergency" to justify episcopal consecrations. While acknowledging serious difficulties in the Church, he insisted that Catholics must remain faithful within the Church: "No situation justifies doing something that is intrinsically evil."

EXCLUSIVE: Cardinal Burke on the Consistory and SSPX consecrations

VATICAN CITY (PerMariam) — Cardinal Raymond Burke has given his assessment of the recent Extraordinary Consistory along with the upcoming episcopal consecrations of the Society of Saint Pius X, noting some remaining concerns about the consistory format, while lamenting the planed consecrations.
Speaking with Per Mariam following the recent consistory, Cdl. Burke offered a summary of the event which drew just under 180 cardinals to Rome for the second such meeting of Leo XIV’s pontificate. As many have similarly done, Burke welcomed the return of consistory’s to the Vatican’s regular life, since it offers a chance to “discuss important questions with regard to the Church.”
But he also raised his concerns about the small table “synodal” group method which has largely replaced the traditional open discussion. As for synodality itself, on which the cardinals were briefed during Saturday’s meeting, the American prelate said that it “remains unresolved.”
“There really needs to be a …

The Anglican Church of Canada Publishes Pastoral Liturgies Blessing Euthanasia

This article was published by the National Review online on June 26, 2026
Wesley Smith
By Wesley J Smith
The Anglican Church of Canada has authorized clergy to bless people being euthanized just before, during, and after being lethally jabbed (when permitted by the bishop). From “Pastoral Liturgies at the Time of Death in Contexts of Medically Assisted Dying”:
It is not our intent to enter into the ethical arguments regarding MAiD, nor to provide a moral argument for or against MAiD. . . . No matter where people are in their life journey, we as a Christian community and Christian leaders in particular are called to respond pastorally to the needs and concerns of the people before us. Wherever the church serves, we are the Body of Christ reaching out to the suffering, the sick, and the dying. When someone reaches out for pastoral care, the church responds: there is a duty of pastoral care.
If the Anglican Church can’t enter into an ethical argument about euthanasia what is the point …

I’m sure that a number of priests have quietly celebrated a funeral Mass for someone who has chosen euthanasia? If you know this to be true, care to comment?

The SSPX Professes the Catholic Faith and Rome Calls It Schism
Menzingen gives Leo XIV a Catholic profession of faith. Leo answers through threats, Vatican II loyalty tests, and Cardinal Fernández.
The SSPX Places Catholic Tradition on the Table
The Society of Saint Pius X sent Leo XIV and the cardinals
a profession of Catholic faith on the eve of the consistory and days before the July 1 episcopal consecrations at Écône.
The document is devastating because it does not sound like a factional manifesto. It sounds like the Catholic Church before the council remembered how to speak.
It begins with divine revelation, the supernatural order, the Trinity, original sin, the Incarnation, Redemption, Mary, the Church, the papacy, moral law, the Social Kingship of Christ, the sacraments, the Mass, the last things, and the modern crisis.
That is precisely why Rome finds it intolerable.
The SSPX does not ask for a liturgical boutique. It does not say, “Please let us have our preferred spirituality …

"This is the rotten comedy of the age." Occult mockery at its finest! And to say," They refuse certain fundamental elements of the Church, beginning with several points of the Second Vatican Council." Is an outright lie! And also the writer says, " The SSPX profession says exactly that." I didn't read that in the profession so I think the writer is way off base making that assertion. V2 isn't the problem or nexus. It is the errors of Russia, and Archbishop Lefebvre knew that!

Pope Leo defends synodality, tells cardinals 'I need your support: strong, explicit, and public' - LifeSite

Sat Jun 27, 2026 - 2:34 pm EDT
VATICAN CITY (
LifeSiteNews) — Pope Leo XIV opened his second extraordinary consistory of cardinals on Friday in which he insisted that the Lord is leading the Church via “synodality” so that she can “grow in communion,” according to a report by Vatican journalist Edward Pentin.
The Pontiff encouraged the 178 cardinals to “engage wholeheartedly” in a synodal, working group structure, adding that he was “well aware that, for many of us, this is not the usual way of conducting a consistory,” Pentin said in his EWTN News report.
“I count on you to help me discern what the Spirit is saying to the Church today. I need your support: strong, explicit, and public,” Leo said in his opening remarks on Friday. “I need to feel sustained by you as brothers.”
“The pope’s comments came after some cardinals had expressed apprehensions about the consistory using a ‘synodal’ round-table format for a second time — a structure they felt was ‘very controlled’ when …

"Roman Mass? It's Not an Attack on Unity" - Cardinal

The Roman rite is "not an attack on the unity of the Church," Cardinal François-Xavier Bustillo, 57, of Ajaccio, France, told Italian daily Il Giornale on June 29.
"The Church also has the Eastern rites, and even in the West we have many rites: I am thinking of the Ambrosian Rite, the Mozarabic Rite, or the Spanish Rite," the Spanish-born cardinal added. In his view, the difficulty arises only when "the search for greater radicality turns into rigidity".
However, Cardinal Bustillo opposes the reversion of Traditionis Custodes. It would be "dangerous," he said, "to send the message that Francis was wrong and that Leo XIV is here to solve the problem."
He believes Leo XIV "will give a response that is fair and well-calibrated."
On the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X, he spoke of "a painful rupture for the Church." He lamented that any new break would come little more than a year into a pontificate centered on the words [!] "peace" and "unity."

This story is bigger than Israel. This story is not about Palestinians versus Israelis. This story is not about what drives people to the streets, even when many of them could not find Gaza on a map.
This story is about the fading trust in UN institutions and, even more troubling, in humanitarian work itself.
After October 7, HonestReporting, an Israeli media watchdog, alerted the public to a series of uncomfortable facts. What they discovered was that several Gaza-based ‘freelance photojournalists’ appeared to be operating in close proximity to prominent Hamas leaders and attackers during the assault, or possessed material that raised serious questions about how it had been obtained. The photographers in question were …

The State of Affairs at L'Osservatore Romano: During today's Angelus, Pope Leo XIV greeted homeless people present in St Peter's Square who were distributing L'Osservatore di strada, a supplement of L'Osservatore Romano. According to Silere non possum, Andrea Monda, editor-in-chief of L'Osservatore Romano, requested that a greeting to the distributors be included in the Pope's prepared text. Monda attended the Angelus in St Peter's Square. SilereNonPossum.com adds that Monda does not usually go to the office even on days when he is expected to be there, that public interest in L'Osservatore di strada is "non-existent," and that Monda is personally responsible for the costly project out of an "obsession."

Angelus: Pope Leo Reads, Andrea Monda Gets the …
Among the greetings drafted by the Prefecture of the Papal Household for the Pope was one addressed to the homeless people present in St Peter’s Square to distribute L’Osservatore di strada, a supplement to L’Osservatore Romano.
Naturally, the request came from Andrea Monda himself. A man who does not usually go to the office even on the days when he is expected to be there was hardly likely to spend a Sunday in St Peter’s Square beneath the scorching Roman sun of recent days. But having secured confirmation from the Prefecture that the short passage had been inserted into the text prepared for the Pope, Monda could not miss the occasion. He had to be there, he had to be seen, he had to make his presence visible at the very moment Leo XIV spoke about the costly paper. And so there he was in St Peter’s Square, beside a banner that had cost hundreds of euros, waving his arms about in his embarrassing braces to greet the Pope, who, puzzled …More

Soccer in Front of the Altar. Worse than Germany: On June 21, the parish priest of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Reina del Clero in Mexico City invited fathers to celebrate Father’s Day by playing soccer inside the church’s nave around the 12:00 Eucharist. Wearing liturgical vestments, the priest also took part in the game. A goal was placed directly in front of the altar, and the fathers took turns shooting while parishioners applauded.

Latest ones is the gas and an oil spill the US and Europe is trying to say destroyed their beaches. As he walks from one end to the other showing just who clean and beautiful the Black Sea still is. Saving Catholic education in America and Canada

Both in Canada and the United States the roots of Catholic education go far and deep. In America, Catholic education began in 1606 with the Franciscan missionaries in St. Augustine Florida. Parochial schools were established in 19th century to defend the Catholic faith against the Protestant public schools. Today there are many Catholic private schools across the country.
In Canada, Catholic education goes back to 1620s as French missionaries opened schools in what is today's Quebec. Section 93 of Canada's Constitution of 1867 protects denominational rights for Catholics to govern their own schools. However, public education comes under provincial jurisdiction, and sadly over the years most of the provinces have given away that legal protection. Secularism has swept much of the faith away.
So, it's good to see that the Front Royal Education Summit was held on May 27–28, 2026, at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia. There is a great need to reclaim Catholic education. The meeting …

Canon Lawyer, Professor Michael J. Mazza: “Over 80% of the nation’s priests regularly fear being falsely accused, largely because of the lack of due process they encounter the instant an allegation is made against them. Nearly the same percentage of surveyed priests suggested that their bishop would be one of the LAST people they would ever go to for help if they encountered a problem in their ministry. That is a particularly worrisome attitude given the close bond that is supposed to link bishops and priests in the service of the people of God.”

The internet buzzed after the U.S. bishops consecrated the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Orlando on Thursday. June 11. Catholic news outlets and bloggers mostly raved enthusiastically, while the secular media propagated slightly more restrained summaries. Even President Trump weighed in, saying the action was a “poignant reminder that America has always been guided by the loving hand of God.”
Kudos to the bishops for turning to God for help in troubling times for this nation. But we would do well to consider the many places in Scripture where the prayers of those who ignore the basic demands of justice are not heard by a Lord who hears the cries of the marginalized and forgotten. …
