Pope Leo XIV on Wednesday held a brief private meeting with Italian pop singer Laura Pausini, 51. The Vatican Press Office said that Pausini was accompanied by the vice president of Warner Bros. Leo XIV told her that he is fan of her music saying that his secretary, Rev Edgard Iván Rimaycuna Inga is “her biggest fan from Latin America”. Pausini, a homosexual activist, got several awards from the music world. When Italy passed civil privileges for homosexuals in 2016, Pausini wrote that she had a “new reason to be proud to be Italian”. In 2018, RomeCentral.com described her as a "heroine and defender" of the Italian homosexual community. Her lyrics “I’m so similar to you … a kiss … the wonder of being alike …” resonated strongly with homosexuals. In recent years she has stopped writing songs specifying the sex of the person as she writes “for people”, she told Los40.com in 2024. She added: “In the second album, I made videos where men kissed men and women kissed women. In Italy, …More

…More

The Peruvian abuse case involving the priest Eleuterio Vásquez, known as Lute, has taken an unexpected turn. Pope Leo XIV has granted him laicisation, effectively closing the case without a canonical trial. The case centers on the three sisters Quispe Díaz who accuse “Lute” of sexually abusing them when they were children (between ages 9 and 13). According to reporting, Lute acknowledged the acts as “sins” but claims they do not constitute crimes because there was no penetration. Sudden Notification Today, InfoVaticana.com reported that the sisters had been summoned in person because the cleric handling the case had important news for them. Expecting a letter from Pope Leo XIV — perhaps an apology and clear steps towards justice — they instead received a folded sheet informing them that Leo XIV had granted Lute laicisation 'as a grace', thereby closing the canonical process. In September, the sisters explicitly asked that no dispensation be granted until a proper investigation and …More
Officials in Florida quietly launched a secret project, pouring millions into a last-ditch effort. They sent hundreds of robotic rabbits into the heart of the Everglades. Each machine was built to mimic a live rabbit, from its body heat to its unique scent, all to trap the pythons that have destroyed the ecosystem. But the swamp doesn't follow human rules. The robots worked... too well. They didn't just find the pythons. They found something else. And what happened next is, frankly, insane.
