Don't forget your gift for Jesus. What will you be giving him (for love of God and neighbor) for his 2025 birthday? What virtue, act of charity, additional prayer from the heart is He wanting most from you?
Based on a true story, a priest is confronted with the confession of the man responsible for the death of his family. Warning, it has a lot of ad's. But I think well worth it. If you want to avoid them, click on a video to the right and click back to the movie. About 29 minutes long. A Great Day (Award Winning Catholic Short Film) "A Great Day" (winner of the New York Indie Film Festival Awards) is a powerful short film that captures the heart of the Catholic faith, revealing the profound beauty of true forgiveness, healing, and spiritual renewal through the sacramental life of the Church. Rather than merely telling, this film shows—through visual storytelling and prayerful moments—the real power of God’s grace in action. Set amidst the real struggles of everyday Christians, the story explores how brokenness, resentment, and guilt are not the end—but the beginning of transformation when brought to Christ. Through the presence and ministry of Catholic priests, the film depicts the vital …More
Pope Leo XIV arrived in Lebanon this afternoon. During the flight, he reaffirmed the Holy See’s support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He also noted that, while in Turkey, he discussed plans for a major ecumenical gathering in 2033—possibly in Jerusalem—to mark 2,000 years since Christ’s death and resurrection. In Lebanon, large crowds braved heavy rain to glimpse the Pope. He was welcomed by a light show projected onto the walls of the Presidential Palace in Baabda before speeking to Lebanon’s civil authorities.

Jeffrey, why are you laughing? Do you believe it is a Bible? Explain to me why you would think that. If you do. And I will be glad to explain to you why it isn't. Fair enough? IF you think it is a Bible that is. I just don't understand why you keep laughing the way you are. It doesn't make any sense at all.
Reporterre, an independent French online media outlet dedicated to ecology and environmental journalism, has published an in-depth exploration of the enduring “whiteness” (blanchité) of French ecological movements. Its piece, titled Sortir de l’entre-soi blanc: Neuf pistes pour refonder le mouvement écolo, (Breaking out of the white inner circle: Nine avenues to refound the eco movement), argues this homogeneity stems from historical, cultural and structural biases that marginalise racialised voices, particularly from post-colonial and working-class communities. The article calls for a radical reinvention of the “green” movement, making it less white, more inclusive and intersectional and, thus, ultimately more effective in tackling the climate crisis. Launched in 2007 by journalist Hervé Kempf, Reporterre is France’s oldest daily news site focused on ecology. It is managed by a non-profit association and 98 per cent financed by donations of its readers. It attracts more than …
The absence of representatives from the Russian Orthodox Church was nevertheless conspicuous, and a sign of the persistent chill both in the internal relations of the great Churches of global Orthodoxy and in relations between Rome and Moscow. The chill came after long-simmering tensions between the Patriarchates of Moscow and Constantinople came to a boil in 2018, when Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople granted self-governing status to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen. Beginning on the Feast Of St. Andrew Nov. 30, the following prayer is traditionally recited 15 times a day until Christmas. Mention your request. Day 1 Prayer: O Great Son of God, you have become man in order to make yourself loved by men. But where is the love that men give you in return? You have given your life blood to save our souls. Why then are we so hard-hearted, repaying your love with our ingratitude? More than others, I have myself ill-treated you in this manner, Lord. But your Passion is my hope. For the sake of that love which led you to take upon yourself our human nature and to die for me on the cross, forgive me all the offenses I have committed against you. …More
Travelling Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans before their Champions League clash with Chelsea, 2015. Wikimedia Commons , joshjdss, CC-BY-2.0 The outcry surrounding West Midlands Police (WMP) has increased following the UK Home Secretary demanding an investigation into the recent ban on Israeli soccer fans from an away game in Birmingham. Civil servants working for Shabana Mahmood have now contacted Dutch officials to examine claims made about violence during Maccabi Tel Aviv’s match against Ajax in Amsterdam last November. At the time, the decision to bar Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters from a UEFA Europa League fixture was explained in terms of their potential hooliganism. Subsequently, it came to light that—at least formally speaking—this decision would have been based on flawed ‘evidence’ gleaned from an Amsterdam police report. (There is widespread suspicion that this is just an excuse, however.) The WMP’s hot take on the police file from the Netherlands is at odds with the actual events that …
