Presenting the findings on Thursday, Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) said the trend “has been solidifying for years.” The BKA registered almost 266,000 victims of domestic violence last year, including more than 187,000 women and girls. Non-German suspects were again “clearly overrepresented,” Dobrindt said, noting that 37% of those accused of partner violence did not hold German citizenship.
