Profile
Polish country lad. Brilliant student at the University of Cracow, Poland. Priest. Professor of theology at University of Cracow.
Falsely accused and ousted by university rivals, at age 41 he was assigned as parish priest at Olkusz, Bohemia. He took his position seriously, and was terrified of the responsibility, but did his best. For a long time that wasn’t enough for his parishioners, but in the end he won their hearts. After several years in his parish, he returned to Cracow and taught Scripture the rest of his life.
John was a serious, humble man, generous to a fault with the poor, sleeping little, eating no meat and little of anything else. Pilgrim to Jerusalem, …More

October 20/December 23 Saint John Cantius (Kanty)
Priest (1403-1473) Saint John was born at Kenty in Poland in 1403. He studied philosophy and theology at the University of Cracow with great intelligence, industry, and success, while his modesty and virtue drew all hearts to him. After earning his degrees, he was appointed to the Chair of Theology at the university. He inflamed his hearers with the desire of every kind of piety, no less by his deeds than by his words. He was ordained a priest and was for a short time in charge of a parish, where he manifested great concern for the poor, at his own expense. At the University's request, he resumed the professor's Chair and taught there until his holy death.
He found a poor man on the snow one day, dying of hunger and cold; he clothed him in his own frock and took him to the rectory, to eat at his table. Afterwards, for many years, every professor of the College of Varsovie was obliged, once every year, to invite a poor man to dine with him. …More

A very touching and sad video

I once posted a video of a 7 year old girl who had cancer that President Putin invited to the Kremlin with her parents. (Video: youtube.com/watch?v=jpmLbHv6uZs).
I found a video recently about the full story of another boy in that video.
The young boy Dima who had cancer in the hospital he also visited. He had a dream of a cheerful hospital with lots of color. This is the full story of that young boy and what President Putin did. Though the little boy passed away, his dream came true for other children.
The boy with the red bandana on his head in another video was very shy and even hid under the covers. Such sweet children.

This is a very touching video. Not just of Dima but everyone involved. Watch as Doctors and Nurses get on their knees to help clean the new hospital. Such humble and caring people I have ever seen. GOD Bless this wonderful man and how he is involved with his people so much.

Greccio: Where the nativity scene originated.
DW on Dec 14, 2017 The first nativity play, or re-enactment of Jesus' birth, was staged in Greccio, Italy, in 1223. Saint Francis of Assisi had the idea. The nativity play is still one of the year's highlights there today.

Perry Como sings O Holy Night
O holy night, the stars are brightly shining;
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night divine! O night, O night divine!
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here came the wise men from the orient land.
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our friend.
He knows our need, to our weakness no stranger.
Behold your King, before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, your King, before Him lowly bend!
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression …More

A priest who knew too much

Sister Lucy Truth
Father Joaquín María Alonso was the official archivist of Fatima, entrusted with the Church's most closely guarded secret. For fifteen years, he had unrestricted access to everything: the original manuscripts, Sister Lúcia's sealed letters, the confidential correspondence. He wrote sixteen volumes documenting what he discovered. Then, in 1981, he died. His life's work was buried in the Vatican archives, never to see wide distribution. This is the tragic story of the priest who knew too much, a story that has never been told, until now. Fifty-minute documentary. Narration by Kevin Strain kmpstrain@gmail.com

Happy Children or Saints Bound for Heaven?
Fr. Altier emphasizes the importance of parents dedicating their children to God, prioritizing their spiritual well-being over worldly happiness. He encourages parents to pray for their children’s salvation and holiness, even if it involves difficult paths or suffering, as exemplified by Hannah and the Blessed Virgin Mary. The ultimate goal is for children to become saints and attain eternal life in heaven.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1986)
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (French: Notre-Dame de Paris, lit. 'Our Lady of Paris', originally titled Notre-Dame de Paris. 1482) is a French Gothic novel by Victor Hugo, published in 1831. The title refers to the Notre-Dame Cathedral, which features prominently throughout the novel. It focuses on the unfortunate story of Quasimodo, the Romani street dancer Esmeralda, and Quasimodo's guardian the Archdeacon Claude Frollo in 15th-century Paris. All its elements—the Renaissance setting, impossible love affairs and marginalised characters—make the work a model of the literary themes of Romanticism.

‘The Sight of Hell’ by Rev. John Furniss, C.S.S.R.; 1882; Chapter IX-XII; Pages 5-7

“IX. Terrific Noise
Exodus xi. There shall be a great cry, such as hath not been heard before.

You have heard, perhaps, a horrible scream in the dead of night. You may have heard the last shriek of a drowning man before he went down into his watery grave. You may have been shocked in passing a madhouse, to hear the wild shout of a madman. Your heart may have trembled when you heard the roar of a lion in the desert, or the hissing of a deadly serpent in the bushes.
But listen now -- listen to the tremendous, the horrible uproar of millions and millions and millions of tormented creatures mad with the fury of hell. Oh, the screams of fear, the groanings of horror, the yells of rage, the cries of pain, the shouts of agony, the shrieks of despair of millions on millions. There you hear them roaring like lions, hissing like serpents, howling like dogs, and wailing like dragons. There you hear the gnashing of teeth and the fearful blasphemies of the devils. Above all, you hear the roaring of …More

"There is in hell a sound like that of many waters. It is as if all the rivers and oceans of the world were pouring themselves with a great splash down on the floor of hell. Is it then really the sound of waters? It is. Are the rivers and oceans of the earth pouring themselves into hell? No. What is it then? It is the sound of oceans of tears running from the countless millions of eyes. They cry night and day. They cry forever and ever. They cry because the sulphurous smoke torments their eyes. They cry because they are in darkness. They cry because they have lost the beautiful heaven. They cry because the sharp fire burns them."

Saint-Bernard Church in Lyon to Reopen as Climbing Centre in 2029:
Saint-Bernard Church, in Lyon’s Croix-Rousse district (1st arrondissement), will reopen to the public as a large indoor climbing centre by 2029. Built in 1866, the church was desacralised in 1999 and has been fully closed since 2004. For many years, the building was at risk of demolition or being turned into office space, despite interest from the Priestly Fraternity of St Pius X. It will now be restored through a project led by the City of Lyon and the company Carré d’Or. Work is expected to start in 2026, with an investment of nearly €5 million. The historic structure will be preserved.

Exorcist Diary #375: The Hidden Demonic Affliction

Demons shame people. Constantly. Compulsively. Always. In hell there is no affirmation. Mystics who have had a graced vision of hell speak of demons eternally tormenting people with their sins. Over and over again, demons in hell rub the noses of the damned with their faults, sins and failures. They are the epitome of sadism- deriving perverted pleasure from peoples' suffering.
I recently shared a short video: "Pray With Me: Casting Out Mental Torments" in which I spoke about demonic mental torments and then prayed with people to lift them. It went "viral," as they say, with over 200k views. Demons do not only torment and shame souls in hell, they do so on earth. This is the hidden demonic affliction that people are reticent to share, perhaps from embarrassment or a fear of being misunderstood.
Make no mistake: demons mentally torment people A LOT! I suspect it is the most common way that demons torture people, even more than physical afflictions. And it is their most effective way to …

Evening Prayer
Good night, Father. Good night, Mother.
The day ends, and to You I entrust my weariness.
Thank you for everything and... forgiveness.
Thank you for the hope that animated my steps today,
for the joy I saw on the faces of the children;
Thank you for the example I received from that brother of mine;
Thank you also for what made me suffer...
Thank you because in that moment of discouragement I remembered that You are my Father;
Thank you for the light, for the night, for the breeze, for the food, for my desire to overcome...
Thank you, Father, because You gave me a Mother!
Forgiveness, too, Lord!
Forgiveness for my grumpy face;
Forgiveness because I forgot that I am not an only child, but a brother to many;
Forgiveness, Father, for the lack of collaboration and service
and because I did not prevent that tear, that sorrow;
Forgiveness for keeping Your message of love to myself;
Forgiveness for not knowing how to surrender myself today and say: "yes," like Mary.
