Leo XIV Promotes a Destroyer-Bishop Who Persecuted Good Priests and Catholics
ElWanderer.com commented on the two Argentinean bishop appointments on June 5:
"I cannot say anything about the former because I do not know him. I know the second one well. He is a a marginal figure who did his best to persecute the good priests of his Santa Rosa diocese and the more tradition-minded faithful.”
Monsignor Martín owns his career to Bergoglio. In March 2006, Cardinal Bergoglio made him his auxiliary in Buenos Aires Archdiocese. In September 2013, the newly elected Pope Francis promoted his former auxiliary bishop as Bishop of Santa Rosa.
At the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal parish, Holy Communion was received in the mouth while kneeling. But in 2018, Monsignor Martín told the congregation to stop (video below). He claimed that receiving Communion in this manner breaks the "communion" of the Church. The only "argument" was that he is "the liturgist and legislator of his diocese" and must be obeyed.
However, at another Eucharist, he violated liturgical norms himself by clapping during the entrance procession and beginning with a "good morning" (second video below).
In 2021, a parish priest told his faithful that Martín had stricly forbidden to receive Communion regularly. The bishop wrote that this was "not only for health reasons, but also for ecclesial communion."
Local Catholics described Bishop Martín as an infiltrator whose heart is "harder than stone" and who will "simply destroy everything."
ElWanderer.com mentioned the disastrous promotion of Martín in an article trying to defend Leo XIV. He claims that the pope had no choice but to promote the bad bishop, given that Bergoglio had controlled the Argentinian church for two decades.
