Francis promoted on September 8 Father Andrés Gabriel Ferrada Moreira, 52, from official of the Congregation for the Clergy to its Secretary, making him an archbishop.
Ferrada was ordained a priest for Santiago de Chile Archdiocese and has been at the Congregation for the Clergy since 2018.
Until 2010, he belonged to Father Fernando Karadima's (+2021)’s Unión Sacerdotal. Ferrada left the Unión with nine other priests right before a church investigation found Karadima guilty of homosexually abusing minors (February 2011). However, Karadima has been accused of sexual misconduct since the 1980s.

" I've personally seen two dudes who really did walk around with a "trade-mark parrrot" on their shoulder. (they clip the wing feathers so their "trademark" can't fly away.) Funny guys but... *wince*
