Why don't they do it in the rectory, or the basement, or the parish garage rather than in the Church. Who would want to see such an outrage and abomination in the Church before the Blessed Sacrament.

In the old days, a wedding between a Catholic and an unbaptized person, in the case where the bishop allowed it at all, had to take place in the rectory, and the priest couldn’t wear vestments. Now, anyone can do whatever they want, so long as it is offensive to Catholic sensibilities.

They knew this would instantly happen, this is their true intention, anybody can throw in a couple of "traditional quotes" to cover their backs when questioned. The document clearly refers to couples, not individuals, so at this point is lame to see the super-charitable-non-confusion-activists create a new level of mental gymnastis and contorsion in order to ignore the literal presence of the word …More
