Cardinal Sarah published on January 14 two statements about his book on celibacy.
The first recalls how it came about (Italian and French press statement).
The second statement confirms that the book, originally presented as being co-written with Benedict XVI, will now be attributed to Sarah alone but “with a contribution of Benedict XVI.”
Sarah does not answer Archbishop Gänswein's claim that Benedict didn't mean to coauthor the book.
However, he says in the first statement, that he proposed Benedict XVI in October to publish a book together.
On November 19, Sarah sent the complete manuscript to Benedict, including the cover, and the common introduction and conclusion.
Benedict XVI replied, “For my part, the text [of the book] can be published in the form you have in mind.”
On December 3, Sarah visited Benedict thanking him for the great trust. He told Benedict that the book would be printed over Christmas and published on January 15. However, Archbishop Gänswein [who is more likely …More

Agreed. Psycho pope summoned him, called him on the carpet, and said get rid of Benedict’s name on that book—do whatever it takes.
Gänswein can't serve two masters. He needs to stop thinking he's in charge of BXVI's matters anymore.
BXVI has released Gänswein from his role as "personal secretary" since I am aware that he now signs as "secretario particolare" (not personale). Gänswein is probably freaking out because he was scolded by the Argentine Dictator for letting BXVI and this Book deal happen.

Gänswein is a highly suspect character who ought to be avoided like the plague by Benedict most of all. Jail keeper to Pope Benedict—keep him under wraps and under tight control.
