Francis Denying Immaculate Conception: “Mary Not Born A Saint”

In his Christmas greetings to the employees of the Holy See on December 21, Pope Francis spoke about Our Lady and Saint Joseph in the Nativity scene being full of holiness and joy.

He continued: “And you will tell me: of course! They are Our Lady and Saint Joseph! Yes, but let us not think it was easy for them: saints are not born, they become thus, and this is true for them too.”

According to Catholic doctrine Our Lady was conceived without original sin and therefore born a saint. Francis is know for often speaking without thinking.

Summa Theologicae III:27:4):
“I answer that, God so prepares and endows those, whom He chooses for some particular office, that they are rendered capable of fulfilling it, according to 2 Cor. 3:6: ‘(Who) hath made us fit ministers of the New Testament.’ Now the Blessed Virgin was chosen by God to be His Mother.

"Therefore there can be no doubt that God, by His grace, made her worthy of that office, according to the words spoken to her by the angel (Lk. 1:30,31): ‘Thou hast found grace with God: behold thou shalt conceive,’ etc. But she would not have been worthy to be the Mother of God, if she had ever sinned.

"First, because the honor of the parents reflects on the child, according to Prov. 17:6: ‘The glory of children are their fathers’: and consequently, on the other hand, the Mother’s shame would have reflected on her Son.

"Secondly, because of the singular affinity between her and Christ, who took flesh from her: and it is written (2 Cor. 6:15): ‘What concord hath Christ with Belial?’

"Thirdly, because of the singular manner in which the Son of God, who is the ‘Divine Wisdom’ (1 Cor. 1:24) dwelt in her, not only in her soul but in her womb. And it is written (Wis. 1:4): ‘Wisdom will not enter into a malicious soul, nor dwell in a body subject to sins.’

“We must therefore confess simply that the Blessed Virgin committed no actual sin, neither mortal nor venial; so that what is written (Cant 4:7) is fulfilled: ‘Thou art all fair, O my love, and there is not a spot in thee,’ etc.

The Catholic Church believes that saints are ordinary and typical human beings who made it into heaven. In the broader sense, everyone who's now in heaven is technically a saint. Saints are human beings who lived holy lives in obedience to God's will and are now in heaven for eternity. (dummies.com)

To be a saint is to be sanctified. Mary was sanctified at the moment of her Conception. Mary was a living saint. The context of the Pope's remarks indicate that sainthood was somehow "not easy" for Mary to attain. This is incorrect

Speaking before thinking is not necessarily blaspheming. I can understand what Pope Francis is meaning to say. JAS

Our leaders especially the Holy Father needs our prayers and as do all our spiritual guides Distracting ourselves unnecessarily is exactly that I believe. We can as I imagine use our time more wisely again when it comes to some trying to second guess the Holy Father's words and intentions. JAS

He is blaspheming. It is known that one of Our Lady's Titles is "Ark of the New Covenant"
As the Old Ark was considered too holy to be touched - so is Our Lady
The Old Ark contained the Manna, the Word of God on Stone (The 10 Commandments) and the Priestly Rod of Aaron. that came back to life [www.usccb.org/bible/scripture.cfm; www.usccb.org/bible/scripture.cfm].

Our Lady (The New Ark) contained the LIVING Manna, The Word of God made FLESH, and "the Branch" (Messianic title) who would die but come back to life [www.usccb.org/bible/scripture.cfm].

Now, reading the Old Testament, you can clearly see that the Ark of the Covenant was carried around on a bier, in a similar way to the way Icons representing the Holy Virgin are transported on Her Feast Days outside the Churches.

It is found that so sacrosanct is the Holy Virgin - that it is known that she was perpetually a Virgin - due to her being the chosen vessel to bear the Son of the Most HIgh God.

Now Francis clearly does not venerate The Holy Mother of Our Lord sufficiently - He makes known his preference to believe & promote heretical (Blasphemous) teachings contrary to the Roman Catholic Traditional Faith. How can he be a validly elected Pope? Even BORGIA - reputed to be one of the most troublesome Popes had no quarrel with any of the Church's Teachings - and it is known that a valid Pope NO MATTER WHAT HE TAUGHT PREVIOUSLY, tends to become Orthodox in his teachings when made Pope. It is a clear case of proof being given that Francis is not legitimately elected. I don't know about you - but I'd rather not be cast into Hell by Our Lord for following a Pope who's own errors promote the wrath of God. His teachings are base and not-spiritual in tenour (it's clearly NOT the Holy Ghost he takes his inspiration from) God help those who do not SEE that - he is in danger of being struck by Lightning.

Regarding the Holiness of the Ark.

"We observe in Holy Scripture, for instance, Uzziah, who died when he touched the ark of the covenant, which was arguably the holiest object in the Old Testament, even though he was only trying to prevent it from falling:

2 Samuel 6:6-7(RSV) And when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. [7] And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there because he put forth his hand to the ark; and he died there beside the ark of God.

Others died by merely looking inside the ark:

1 Samuel 6:19 And he slew some of the men of Beth-she'mesh, because they looked into the ark of the LORD; he slew seventy men of them, and the people mourned because the LORD had made a great slaughter among the people. (cf. Ex 33:20). "

The Blessed Virgin Mary became, in effect, the New Holy of Holies, where God specially resides. But in the case of Mary, God is more present than He ever was in the tabernacle and temple, because now He is there physically, as a man, as well. Mary is the ark of the new covenant (as the Church fathers called her) and Mother of God (the Son)"

But our mother had to correspond to the grace of Immaculate Conception heroically throughout her life; likewise St. Joseph to the extraordinary grace he received to live as Mary's most chaste spouse and provide for Jesus and Mary until his death.

Crafty, Francis. Does he know exactly what he is saying or is he so poorly educated on things Catholic that his ignorance is extreme? Every Catholic worthy of the name knows Our Lady was sinless from her ,Immaculate Conception.
