General Audience: Remorseful Francis Admits His Faults

“Even today, many are looking for religious security [is this wrong?] focusing on [poverty ideology] rituals and [Traditionis Custodes] precepts instead of embracing the God's love with their whole being” [through the beauty of the Roman Rite], Francis said at his October 27 general audience.

He calls this “the temptation of the new [climate and leftwing] fundamentalists, of those to whom it seems the path forward is scary and they do not go forward but backwards [toward eco-romanticism] because they feel safer [in their 1968 ideology].”

Francis called these people a “small group” - which is true because they are dying out, “They live 'as it was back then' [in the 1960s], they distance themselves from the [Holy] Spirit,” he stressed.

An evidently remorseful Francis admitted that "sometimes, those who approach the [politically correct] Church receive the impression that they are dealing with a dense mass of rules and regulations: but no, this is not the Church!”

Francis said that the faith „cannot be grasped on the basis of so many commandments or of a [casuistic] moral vision developed in many layers [e.g. Amoris Laetitia] which can make us forget the original fruitfulness of love nourished by prayer [as expressed in the Roman Rite].”
