Some months before the Ukrainian war started, Francis met a head of state, “a wise man, who speaks very little, very wise indeed,” Francis said at a meeting with ten directors of Jesuit publications (LaStampa.it, June 14).
After their official exchange, the president told Francis that he was “very concerned” about how NATO was moving, “I asked him why, and he said: 'They are barking at the gates of Russia. And they do not understand that the Russians are imperial and do not allow any foreign power to approach them'. He concluded: 'The situation could lead to war'.”
According to Francis, we must get away from the pattern “Little Red Riding Hood is good, and the wolf is the bad guy” because “I am against reducing complexity to the distinction between good guys and bad guys, without reasoning about roots and interests.”
Francis also pointed out that there are other countries where war is ongoing “and nobody cares.”

Neither Ukrania or Russia is a good guy here. Zelensky can end the "war" anytime he wants, just steps down from goverment and allow elections.
"But then Russia will install a puppet government" - well Zelensky already is a puppet serving foreign insterests of US.

Yeah…and Churchill could’ve ended WWII at anytime too, if he’d just stepped down and allowed a nazi puppet to be elected Prime Minister of Great Britain. Because neither the Allies or the Axis were “good guys” there.
