Francis sent a May 24 letter to “the dear brother”, Ecumenism Cardinal Kurt Koch praising John Paul II’s encyclical Ut unum sint for its 25th anniversary.
John Paul II suggests in Ut unum sint (95) “to find a way of exercising the primacy” which is “open to a new situation,” envisaging the Pope as a “moderator” established “by common consent.”
He prays “that we may seek—together, of course—the forms in which this ministry may accomplish a service of love recognized by all concerned.”
Francis praises Ut unum sint (50) for having put forward the claim that “legitimate” diversity “increases” Church unity, although the opposite is evident.
He compares the “different Churches” to the disciples of Emmaus who “feel” Christ’s presence when he explains the Scriptures and “recognize” him in the fraction of the bread, awaiting a common “Eucharistic table” – as if “fraction of the bread” and “Eucharistic table” were two different things.

@Irishpol The Church’s condemnation of Pope St John Paul II the Great can be found ...
Today, it is only the SSPX that follows all of the true teachings of the Church. Understandably, they see their mission as that of preserving the Catholic Faith in its fullness and purity, to teach its truths, and to diffuse its virtues, especially through the Roman Catholic priesthood.

Today, it is only the SSPX that follows all of the true teachings of the Church. Understandably, they see their mission as that of preserving the Catholic Faith in its fullness and purity, to teach its truths, and to diffuse its virtues, especially through the Roman Catholic priesthood.
That mission, of course, does not include finding fault with the almost countless number of Modernist practices that have become an acceptable part of the modern Catholic’s life today. And besides, the heretical practices of Pope John Paul II, two of which I’ve already mentioned (Universalism and Indifferentism) need no modern-day confirmation.
But do understand that the Catholic Church established by Jesus Christ continues today exactly as He established her two centuries ago. Sadly enough, however, the modernist leaders of Vatican II hijacked His Church and have led countless souls away from His Truth. Most of the followers of the new religion established by those false leaders accept it as being that of the true Catholic Church. It is not. It is a counterfeit religion. They have the buildings and the worldly support, but they do not have the true faith. It is only those who continue to follow all of the true teachings of the Catholic Church that do.
So yes, the “church” of the religion that you choose to follow has not condemned Pope John Paul II and never will. But their raising of him to so-called their new sainthood is merely emblematic of far more serious errors being perpetrated and practiced by the modern popes and bishops today. And while I have no interest in debating the general issue with you, I would commend to your reading any number of publications that have been written over the past 50 years that spell out the issues giving rise to this division quite well. You would be wise to avail yourself of those, and if you were actually interested, I’d be more than happy to provide you with a list of at least a few.

Because the Catholic Church is the one true Church. The SSPX does not oppose the Church or the Holy Father. The SSPX simply wants the leaders of Rome to follow the true teachings of the Church. It is only after that is assured will they want to reconcile. Absolute not under the current climate.
May I suggest you read the following explanation from an SSPX priest who lays out the issue quite clearly. …More

Yes, and if we fear God we will know very well that he has the power to send us to hell for being wicked sinners.
