He knows he is "in full agreement" with Francis, Luxembourg Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich SJ told US Catholic activist Richard Smaglick (LifeSiteNews.com, August 6).
Asked if homosexual acts might no longer be considered a grave sin by the Synod, Hollerich was evasive: "I don't know what the Synod will bring." He said he wanted to listen to "the people of the world, what they express." No one knows what the phrase "the people of the world" means in this context. In Australia, participation in the Synod was less than 0.05% of Catholics.
Smaglick countered that Scripture and Catholic tradition have taught for 2,000 years that "sodomy is a sin and abomination that cries out to heaven." Hollerich ridicules himself by trying to ridicule the Bible, claiming that it says that "the sun revolves around the earth" and that we must therefore "interpret the Bible."

Stop putting words into these holy humble Francis followers he was so deep in prayer that he was not clear he meant to say that holy Humble Francis and himself smell sheep and are very caring about the poor as they sometimes can see poor people pass their windows, so stop criticising and being so rigid these holy prelates would never say these things, these films have clearly been dubbed as like Francis they are so steeped in humbleness and holiness and only have the sheeps best interests at heart and this springtime that Francis has exposed in the church is blossoming for all those with eyes to see and tea with Jimmy Martin is so humble and holy that is just what Francis does as he is synodal as well. Stop snipping at the sidelines and just do as Francis says and stop being so rigid and not nice.

And the lack of laity participation makes pushing change more difficult, especially when it is noted in several reports.

Sadly for him, that might be his own funeral, but he presumable doesn't care either about all those for whose damnation he may well be responsible. 2) I was under the impression (maybe erroneously) that the death penalty for adulterers reflected the fact that it is a grave sin which results in spiritual death (hell) if not repented of. I'm pretty sure such laws etc were abrogated by the New Law. If I'm wrong on this, I'd be grateful for more info.. 3) I'm not sure how natural laws as described in the Bible have anything to do with sin, grave or otherwise, so that's like catching at straws. 4) I'd love to know which bit of the Bible he's interpreting as saying such behaviour is fine and God's fine with it too. How much clearer could the Bible be on the subject?
