Francis made Cardinal Gerhard Müller on June 21 a member of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, together with the Cardinals Tobin and Harvey, two archbishops, and six bishops.
This appointment is of no importance. Theoretically, the Signatura oversees the administration of justice in the Church, however, in practice, the Signatura has been compared to a “vortex” where the cases enter and disappear without ever being resolved — with the exception of the period between 2008 and 2013, when Cardinal Raymond Burke served as prefect, who was incorruptible, which is why Francis fired him.
In 2017, Burke himself was appointed a member of the Signature which Francis seemingly is using as a graveyard for the bodies of his victims.

In one respect its possible that God is proving that the church, despite its leadership cannot error on matters of faith. These loons that are in the church are powerless to change church teaching even though they want to badly.

On the positive side,the title is glorious. What a killer line at parties... Somebody asks, "What do you do for work?" and you can say, "I'm a member of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura in the Vatican. We oversee the administration of justice within The Catholic Church". Instant reaction face...o.O
