England: "Widower" of Homosex Pseudo Marriage Will Be Ordained A Priest

Leeds Bishop Marcus Stock, 59, England, will ordain Christopher Butler, a former nurse, to the priesthood on July 17.

Butler posted on social media that he lived in a homosex liaison, recognised by the State, with the deceased Alan Sumner whom he called a “life partner.”

Leeds Diocese assured ChurchMilitant.com that Butler has “radically converted to following Jesus Christ” and made a commitment to a life of chastity, although no public statement to that effect has been made.

Deacon Nick Donnelly explains that homosexuality is an inclination to acts of grave depravity, and that active membership in the homosex movement is like being indoctrinated into an addictive cult from which it is very difficult to get free, psychologically and socially.

According to Donnelly, the "lax attitude" of some English bishops towards the homosex subculture "makes it very difficult for affected seminarians and priests to break away from this morally destructive lifestyle.”

Stock’s predecessor in Leeds was Archbishop Arthur Roche, the anti-Catholic Prefect of the Liturgy Congregation.

Guess which parish is suddenly going to have one HECK of a tough time finding altar boys?
The New Knights Templar
LOL!!

@Ultraviolet Sadly, that probably won't happen. Firstly, there seems to be more altar girls these days. But also, parishioners in the UK novus ordo sphere are often ill-instructed, sycophantic, and have that 'go along to get along' mentality. Peace at any price and the truth be damned. That kind of thing. It's the reason I left my own parish many years ago. It wouldn't surprise me if they hang …More

@Kevin as I told @Live Mike, you're being serious when I wasn't. Now that I have to be serious, you're correct on all points. a.) @Kevin as I told @Live Mike, you're being serious when I wasn't. Now that I have to be serious, you're correct on all points. a.) Altar Girls.. *long unhappy sigh* as much as I enjoy poking fun at UK fail, here in Murrica we're no different -at least among Novus Ordo parishes. Worse, there are going to be even more female altar serves from now on with every passing year. His Holiness Pope Francis issued the Apostolic Letter "Spiritus Domine" in which he, after what he describes as "theological reflection", modified Canon Law 230.1 to formally permit female altar servers. As a legalist and as a devout Catholic in full communion with The Church, I submit to his decision. I don't agree with it, but my agreement is not required, only my compliance.

I'm hoping intense parish social pressure and Church tradition itself will all but eliminate the practice in TLM parishes. Families who attend them are, as a rule, those who already recognize and value Church tradition and not recent novelties and innovations.

B.) Yes, UK parishioners (and I'm sorry to say even the secular citizens) do have a willingness to compromise for (as you rightly say) "peace at any price". At least the Caucasians do. Since you seem well-grounded in your country's cultural short-comings, hopefully you wont't take too much umbrage when I say it's no surprise. You've always been serfs, centuries of slavery at the hands of your "nobility" has made you susceptible to it. Foreigners from violent, often knife-oriented cultures, aren't nearly as tolerant and, unsurprisingly, most aren't Christians, either.

Just to show that I try to be even-handed, many urbanized Americans today aren't all that different. Whatever rebellious spirit we had as the first colony to break away from England's crown has been educated out of us. Massachusetts, birthplace of the American Revolution, is the most totalitarian state on the entire Easter Seaboard. Again, this applies only to Caucasians. Again, interestingly, this is a cultural issue not a racial one. Many Blacks and Latinos have lived here longer than comparatively recent Caucasian immigrants. Yet their cultures emphasize "respect" and many will pick a fight simply because you stared at them too long, i.e. "disrespecting" them.

What's interesting, and proves the cultural (not racial) component of this is when Caucasian youth embrace and adopt the cultural norms of either culture. Almost overnight, they develop the same instantly aggressive attitude and quickness to take offense at the slightest "disrespect". It proves this has nothing to do with whatever DNA gives an African boy or an Arab boy or a Latino boy jet-black hair and dark skin or an Irish boy red hair, freckles, and plaster-white skin. It's something minorities learn at home and Caucasians learn from their new-found friends.

This is actually a very good thing because it shows all Caucasians can learn to have a "no-nonsense, non-submissive" attitude in defending themselves and as Catholics, defending The Church.. ;-)

@Ultraviolet Thanks for that, food for thought. No umbrage taken! God bless.

For all we know, he is being kept from making a public statement. (From the article:
Leeds Diocese assured ChurchMilitant.com that Butler has “radically converted to following Jesus Christ” and made a commitment to a life of chastity, although no public statement to that effect has been made.)

But still...this would be a very recent "radical conversion".

O Precious Blood of Jesus, infinite price paid for the redemption of sinful mankind, with all my heart I adore Thee, sweet Lord, and offer reparation for the insults, outrages and ingratitude, which Thou continuously receivest from men.

Fun Trivia: Actor Jim Caviezel actually did take a real-deal hit from a Roman flagrum in that scene. The "Roman legionary" struck the "skin armor" pad on Caviezel's back the wrong way causing the flagrum to wrap around the side into Caviezel's ribs. Director Mel Gibson, with Caviezel's full agreement, left the footage in the film.

Didn't you know those documents were all recently declared to be too rigid and passé. (facetious)

You are learning @Live Mike :D --both from me and hopefully from our Soupreme Pontiff. You have to let the holy spirit (as opposed to The Holy Spirit) and the god of surprises (as opposed, literally, to God) guide you when it comes to these matters. That's when you'll realize "love is love". :P.
