Tyler Bishop Joseph Strickland, 64, Texas, has heard nothing from the Vatican that Francis will ask him to resign, he told ReligionNews.com (September 12), “I have received no information on this from Rome.”
Asked if he would resign if Francis asked him to, Strickland said no. “As a basic principle, I cannot resign the mandate given to me by Pope Benedict the XVI”, he said.
He added, “Of course that mandate can be rescinded by Francis, but I cannot voluntarily abandon the flock that I have been given charge of as a successor of the apostles.”

Bishop Strickland says he won’t resign if Pope Francis requests. This will force Pope Francis to canonically depose him although Strickland has done nothing wrong.

Like the Old Testament Prophet, Saint Daniel, who, with invincible courage and unrelenting faith, stood resolutely and unblemished before the diabolical plotting and deceitful shenanigans of his accusers, Bishop Strickland shall not go quietly into the night. May all of Heaven help him and deliver him from his den of lions.
