Quite true, Tom, although, I suspect that these two terms should be written as "everything" and "nothing" since one of the greatest deceptions humans have fallen prey to is thinking we actually know what either of those words mean given that we typically assess them in an earthly or secular way. Our Lord appeared to have "nothing" but He gave us Everything in its most universal meaning.

Many would dismiss the theory that the CIA planned an assassination attempt on Cuban leader Fidel Castro using mutated monkey viruses from polio vaccines as a myth. Paradoxically, it sounds like a paranoid delusion, and yet…
The CIA made nearly 640 assassination attempts on Fidel Castro. One plan involved a cigar exploding when lit. Such exploding cigars were smuggled into Cuba. Later, the plans were modified, and the cigars were poisoned. Each time, the Cuban secret service apprehended the suspects. So Fidel could smoke without worry. He even managed to snub the CIA by winning a fishing competition organized by Ernest Hemingway and accepting the grand prize from the Nobel laureate himself. A photograph of the ceremony has adorned Havana’s cafés ever since. Source.

Why Gloria.tv Needs You This Advent

"I thank you for your selfless dedication to the faith. I know what it means to share in the trials that affect the Church. Yet God holds everything in his loving hands." This is one of the many encouraging messages that Gloria.tv receives from its donors and friends (alongside the occasional hostile note).
For nearly two decades, Gloria.tv has been here — steady as a lantern in a windy night — regardless of the circumstances or how much was donated. However, the truth is that almost every year in December, we struggle just to land at zero.
We never imagined the fighting Church without Gloria.tv. We’re not ready to imagine that now, either. We've always found a way forward, and we believe we will again — even amid rising costs for everything. With your help.
Please consider taking part in our Advent fundraising campaign (we need to raise about €30,000). Gloria.tv depends on your support.

Patriarch John of Antioch, Pope Leo, and Muslim leaders plant olive tree as symbol of peace in Beirut

Beirut, December 3, 2025

Pope Leo XIV met with Christian and Muslim religious leaders from Lebanon and Syria on the second day of his visit to Beirut, participating in an interfaith gathering at Martyrs’ Square in the Lebanese capital.
His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch welcomed the Pontiff during the event, greeting him in Arabic and describing the visit as a joyous occasion.
In his remarks, the Patriarch welcomed the Pope to “the Church of Antioch, where the disciples were first called Christians. The Church of Antioch, in all its diverse communities, the first Church founded by the Apostle Peter.”
The Patriarch characterized Lebanon as a country “that breathes with both its Muslim and Christian lungs” and emphasized the shared existence of its communities, saying its components “do not merely coexist but complement, resemble, and ultimately meld into one another to shape Lebanon.”
In a symbolic gesture, Pope Leo XIV, Patriarch John, and an …

Popular 1980s daytime television hosts like Oprah, Geraldo and others injected repressed memory into pop psychology bringing unjust harm to a multitude of innocents.

Just as I was preparing to type this post, an alert reader informed me that my name is mentioned in a brief but brilliant article by William A. Donohue, PhD, President of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights. The article, “
What Happens When Truth Doesn’t Matter” appears in the November 2025 issue of the Catholic League Journal Catalyst. It tells a fascinating but disturbing story about a wealthy woman who had developed a best-selling memoir recounting her newly emerged memories of being raped by a middle school teacher 37 years earlier when she was 12. The story emerged with the help of a psychotherapist and the influence of a psychedelic drug called MDMA. The story propelled her memoir, promoted by Oprah Winfrey and other daytime …

The Catholic Church Needs Its Own COVID Inquiry

The latest conclusions of the national Covid Inquiry have hit the headlines, and those who supported lockdown feel vindicated. An expert-led process costing £200 million has broadly endorsed the government’s approach, concluding that lockdown “was right” — and should, in fact, have happened sooner.
But the inquiry has also been labelled as a £200 million pound “I told you so” exercise; never willing to challenge the underlying assumptions of the lockdown strategy. Critics point to the fact that the inquiry uncritically accepted figures based on discredited modelling, and ignored real-world data such as the comparative case of Sweden. They believe that lockdowns not only couldn’t significantly change the mortality rate from an airborne virus, but that they cost lives, wrecked the economy as well as socially, educationally, and psychologically crippling a generation.
Later modules of the Covid Inquiry will give more opportunity for submissions on the effect of lockdown on Catholic …

Germany’s Globalist Regime Has Spent $14.2 Billion on ‘Asylum-Seeking Minors’ Since 2015 – Allah's Willing Executioners

In what critics on the populist right and left decry as a profound betrayal of its working and middle-class citizens, Germany’s globalist governments have been revealed to have shelled out billions of dollars into supporting welfare-dependent asylum seekers and illegal migrants, even as everyday Germans grapple with skyrocketing living costs, crumbling infrastructure, and eroding public services.
Newly released figures,
reported by German portal NIUS, underscore the scale of the expenditure. Since 2015—the start of a decade marked by large-scale migration to Europe and Germany from the Middle East and Africa—unaccompanied minor asylum seekers have cost German taxpayers at least €12.2 billion ($14.2 billion).
Nationalist-conservative lawmakers warn that the astonishing figure is likely an undercount, with several federal states withholding or providing incomplete data, hindering full transparency and oversight.
Over the past decade, nearly 190,000 such ‘minors’ have been registered,…

'He who abuses too much the mercy of God will be abandoned by him.'
St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, Doctor of the Church

'Saints' Quotes - Holy quotations for purification of the soul' - 'Fewness' - One Hundred and One Texts – pp. 6-8; part VI

'Cast a look round the world, just observe the manner of living, of speaking, and you will see immediately whether the evil of sin is known in the world or whether any attention is paid to it. Not to speak of those who live decidedly irreligious and wicked lives, how few are those who pass for good and who approach the sacraments are aware of the great evil that sin is, and the great ruin it brings with it. It must necessarily happen that, on account of this certainly culpable ignorance in which most men live, an enormous number will come to be damned, because no sin is pardoned which is not detested, and it is impossible to detest sin properly if it is not known as such.'
St. Joseph Cafasso

Christian Ownership Maximalism

The maxim “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” underscores that Christian ownership confers not unbridled license, but an opportunity to participate in the providential will of God.
Christendom is gone. So, too, is much of the Western civilization that was built atop it. Christians find themselves strangers and sojourners in an unfamiliar land. Aaron Renn
calls this landscape the “Negative World.” In the Negative World, it is socially and politically harmful—and economically dangerous—to be publicly Christian. What should Christians do in this Negative World? How should we live in the face of the disintegration of Christendom and the civilization Christendom built?
One answer, put forward by James Shea, is to reorient Christian structures away from maintenance and toward mission. Every domain of Catholic life—schools, seminaries, lay movements, parishes, churches—should be oriented to evangelical, or missionary, activity. Shea is undoubtedly right about this. In …
