Obviously an old post - it's too late to pray that Francis die "repentant." that ship has sailed. While true that ONLY God judges & knows, it doesn't look good from what information we have.
The first premise is to believe in God. Later on that belief can grow because of grace into accepting the Triune God, and then finally into the Roman Catholic Church.
Sarah Mullally, the first woman appointed "Archbishop of Canterbury" of the Church of England, has been accused of mishandling an abuse case. She is due to take office on January 28. The allegation centers on her decision to send a confidential email about abuse claims directly to the accused priest, bypassing formal disciplinary procedures. The case involves a victim known as “Survivor N,” who filed a formal complaint in 2020 and reportedly received no response. Mullally has since acknowledged that "Survivor N" was not given adequate support by the Church.
"What kind of unity do we actually want?", asked Cardinal Kurt Koch about ecumenism talking to Die Tagespost on 11 December. He explained that the Church and orthodox groups seek unity in terms of faith and sacraments. However, some Protestant groups envisage "unity" whereby each group remains as it is while recognising one another mutually. With the Orthodox, a consensus has yet to be reached, especially regarding the authority of the Pope. Cardinal Koch noted that a Pope seen merely as "primus inter pares" with no real authority "would only work in fair weather".
Ecumenism is a fool's errand. Each party views it differently. I was just speaking to priest about this the other day. He was gushing about Leo's recent trip to Turkey to "unite with the 'Orthodox'" When I pointed out that leaders of the majority of Orthodox churches [ex. Russia] declined to attend, he groused: Well if they want to act like that, they're "out of the church." He just couldn't see the contradiction in his position that the only 'unity' is under the modernist Vatican (but not in the traditional teaching of submission to the Roman See).
Canadian Bill Criminalizes Quoting Holy Scripture: In Canada, Bill C-9 would amend the Criminal Code by removing the religious exemption in Section 319(3)(b). The change could allow quoting Holy Scripture in good faith to be prosecuted as hate speech, with penalties of up to two years in prison. The proposal comes from the Liberal government. The Canadian Bishops' Conference has formally opposed the bill in a letter to Prime Minister Mark Carney, warning of legal uncertainty for clergy, educators, and believers and a restriction of religious freedom.
Pope Leo: "I prefer to pray in a Catholic church, in the presence of the Most Blessed Sacrament" While meeting journalists in Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV was asked why he had not prayed— “at least not visibly”—during his visit to the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul on his First Apostolic Journey to Turkey and Lebanon. The Pope responded with a gentle smile: “Who said I didn’t pray? … And perhaps I’m praying even now.” He went on to explain, “I prefer to pray in a Catholic church, in the presence of the Most Blessed Sacrament,” calling the attention surrounding the incident “a bit… curious.” shalomworldnews

Our Lady of The Holy Chapel - December 13th, 2025 | No Greater Delight No Greater Delight is a daily Marian podcast meant to start the day with a Marian touch. After examining the Marian feasts celebrated throughout the world on a given day, Fr. Nate offers a brief reflection to help make our love for Our Lady concrete in daily living. The title "No Greater Delight" is inspired by a homily of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, wherein he expresses his joy in preaching about the Virgin Mother, even though he acknowledges the challenge of adequately praising her.
