Michael Bublé among artists performing at Vatican's Christmas show for poor Pope Leo XIV asked Canadian singer Michael Bublé and other artists to do their very best when performing a Christmas concert for the poor. The annual concert at the Vatican "is not merely a performance by talented artists or simply a musical event, beautiful as it may be, nor even a moment of solidarity to ease our conscience in the face of society's injustices," the Pope told Bublé and the other artists on the eve of the Dec. 6 show. "I would like us, as we participate in this gathering, to recall the Lord's words: 'Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me,'" the Pope said.

Those Syrians who are fond of Islamist rule can and should be able to enjoy their preferred model of political organisation—in their own homeland. Die Familie Smith finanzierte mehrere Handelsschiffe …More
We continue posting daily Advent reflections by the Church Fathers. It's a good way to prepare to celebrate Christmas. The reflections and quotations come from the book titled, Advent and Christmas with the Church Fathers by Marco Pappalardo. Introduction John the Baptist’s call to conversion resounds with the same power today that it did two thousand years ago. The desert of Judea is the emptiness of life, a lack of reference points, the loss of religious meaning, and decadence of values. God never abandons his people despite it all, and his Kingdom comes even closer through Christ’s Resurrection. None of us is wholly pure and exempt from the need for repentance: those who believe they are risk hardness of heart and deafness to the call to change paths. Reflection by Hilary of Poitiers, In those days John the Baptist appeared, preaching in the desert of Judea [and] saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!’ (Mt 3:1-2). The place could have been more suitable for the …

Anyone have old pictures of The Nativity? Can you post them please? It's a shame I had to try a few ways to finally find a picture that is not from ai. The few I found were either too small for a screen saver which I change out every month for the devotion of the month. Or it was too big or ugly. And they were very few of any of them.
Is there a definitive cause for the collapse in religious vocations? In this Pints With Aquinas episode, host Matt Fradd asks Sister Miriam Heidland, SOLT, a pressing question: Why are there so few religious sisters today? “I think part of it is the attack on spiritual motherhood and spiritual fatherhood…really, it’s the attack on man and woman, and like, who are we?” she begins. Sister Miriam then shares a personal story and offers her opinion on why there are fewer vocations to the religious life today. “I was talking with the bishop many months ago, and he was saying that in the 1960s…there was a religious community in Wisconsin that was receiving a hundred women a year. 100 women! And they built a brand new novitiate, and then by 1972, they were receiving just four,” she says. At this point in her conversation with the bishop, Sister Miriam says, he posed the question: “Women still have the capacity to say ‘yes’ to this divine invitation. What is preventing them?” Sister Miriam …
The number cause is FEMINISM, in my opinion. Young women have been brainwashed to want to "have it all" = career & 'family" although the latter needs to not be an 'oppressive patriarchal structure' but some self affirming set-up or divorce. Religious life is not even on the radar.
Pope Leo at Angelus: “Dear friends, how great is the gift of the Immaculate Conception, but so also is the gift of Baptism that we have received! The ‘yes’ of the Mother of the Lord is wonderful, but so also can ours be, renewed faithfully each day, with gratitude, humility and perseverance, in prayer and in concrete acts of love, from the most extraordinary gestures to the most mundane and ordinary efforts and acts of service.”
This scoundrel dares to speak of Baptism when he publicly denies it in front of Muslims, pagans, and Jews who reject Christ and do not want to convert and receive baptism. Meanwhile, he deceives them with a false Masonic universal brotherhood.
