Jacob Rees-Mogg, a Catholic, father of six children and member of the British Parliament, has said that he opposes abortion in all circumstances, including rape and incest, “Life begins at the point of conception and abortion is morally indefensible.”
Speaking to Good Morning Britain he also strongly opposed gay pseudo-marriage: “I am a Catholic and I take the teaching of the Catholic Church seriously.” At the same time Rees-Mogg is a strong supporter of British Prime Minister Theresa May who even wants same-sex couples to marry in church.

We certainly need leaders that can articulate why they stand for life and marriage, etc. But I don't understand these supposed strong convictions followed by support of others with none of those convictions. Maybe he has "a method to his madness." Perhaps he speaks openly in opposition to PM May's efforts, for instance, in promoting same-sex couples marrying in church?
