Marco Tosatti (January 15) published a comment by the retired Vatican bishop X regarding the Ratzinger/Sarah saga.
X excludes that Sarah made a mistake and points out that Benedict’s secretary Gänswein didn’t act in the name of Benedict – to whom he never referred - but on Bergoglio’s orders.
After Benedict’s retirement, Gänswein has become his “guardian,” to the point that Benedict allegedly hid his collaboration with Sarah from him, X explains.
X underlines that Bergoglio confirmed Gänswein as the Prefect of the Papal Household, a role putting him under Bergoglio’s direct control.
What happened on January 14 bears Bergoglio’s signature. Gänswein was his willing accomplice, preferring his career to the truth.
